[SOLD] Value of Boxed Amiga 1200 with Apollo 1260?
Hi guys,
The time has sadly come for me to sell my boxed Amiga 1200 with Apollo 1260 accelerator. I have no idea what this stuff is worth these days. Please let me know what you think it is worth or even feel free to make me an offer on it. The A1200 is not yellowed and is in good condition. Cheers. Ram on the 1260, cpu speed (version), MB version, Re-capped, Kickstart version, hd/CF Card? A photo or two would also help. Cheers Stephen |

Hi Stephen, sorry for the lack of details.
There is 32MB fitted on the Apollo. It was originally a 1240/25 that I sent off to Per Gunnar in Sweden for an upgrade. CPU is a genuine MC68060RC50 version 71E41J. It's currently clocked at 50mhz. The A1200 has not been recapped. The board version is 1D4. It has Kickstart 3.1 and a 30 GB Hitachi HDD. I have posted some photos of the Apollo at https://imgur.com/a/hFBmYjY and will have some of the computer shortly. Last edited by Hewitson; 17 September 2022 at 09:52. |

If it's a real rev6 (you should double-check, plenty of fakes around, even 10-15 years ago), you could probably sell the 060 (just the CPU!) alone for 300-500EUR at the current prices.
The Apollo will probably fetch around 400-500EUR if it's in good conditions (and I suppose it is). Probably even a bit higher because of the box. The A1200 will go for around 500-700EUR, depending on the conditions of the box and the accessories. Yes, prices are crazy right now and I don't condone them (everyone knows how outspoken I am against inflated market prices), but it's also fair for your to maximize what you're going to get, if you have come to the decision to sell your precious Miggy. |

I’ll really enjoy it and put it to good use at DiscreetFX if you sell it to me.

I meant for the PC side, so the disks can then be read on the Amiga via CrossDOS. The Amiga has had a functioning FDD.

I have tried reflowing the solder joints on the RCA socket but it has not helped. I'm going out to get a replacement part now. Edit: Well that didn't go as well as I'd hoped. The board required a massive amount of heat, and as a result one of the through holes lifted. I had to run a bodge wire from a nearby resistor which means the composite video jack is now only held on by 2 points instead of 3. This probably isn't a huge issue, as I doubt anyone uses the composite video these days anyway. Edit 2: Now the floppy drive is dead. Seriously considering just binning the computer and selling the accelerator at this point. Last edited by Hewitson; 19 September 2022 at 14:14. |

You definitely can still sell the computer. All Amigas require some TLC these days. It is still worth something.

Floppy and composite port don’t matter to me. I won’t be using those parts of the computer.

Thanks for the encouraging words guys, really appreciate it. I guess I was just feeling a bit frustrated.
The computer is ready for sale. Just to summarise, here is a list of issues with the machine that I'm aware of: - Lifted through hole on composite video jack, meaning it's only connected at two points instead of three. It does now work properly, though. - The FDD does not work. (WB says DF0: Unreadable) when no disk is inserted. I do not have another one to test with, so I'm unsure if it's the drive or something else. - The 30GB HDD has just failed. I have replaced it with a 700MB IBM unit which is working perfectly but is extremely loud (not due to a fault). This is the only other drive I have so unfortunately the computer will be shipped with this. - The motherboard has not been recapped. - I cannot guarantee there aren't other issues. I can't remember the last time I used the Disk Drive port, for example. If you put it on eBay you would probably start the A1200 at AUD$600 and expect over $1000...
The 1260, if genuine Rev 6, probably start at $400 and expect $800 or more. Those are my guesses based on seeing locally-available machines. |

Really? Over $1000 for a stock A1200? That's insane.

It is, but that's what I see on eBay in Australia. Maybe less if issues, more if boxes, paperwork, extras.
