X-surf 3cc and easynet

Can anybody help?

I've just bought a new X-surf 3cc card from amigakit.com. It came packaged with two cd's, the manufacturers installation disk and Easynet software.

(1) The installation guide says to start the installation script on the installation disk by clicking on its icon and following instructions on screen, there is no icon, all files are hidden.

(2) I've also tried using easynet. Copying xsurf.device020 renamed to xsurf.device to workbench:devs/networks/ and config file to workbenchrefs/Env-Archive/sana2/. I input all the data required into Easynet reboot an it says that I need to start AmiTcp first.

I'm using 3.1roms, new install of workbench3.1, micronic z2i busboard, blizzard 1230 mk4 with 8mb installed. CD installed using ide fix.

You have an Amiga A1200 and you bought an (~£80) X-Surf ethernet card?

You're mad.

A1200 compatible PCMCIA 10Mbit ethernet cards are like £2 each on ebay!!

Just tried the test board program.

result:

==========================================================

xsurf testprg V1.2 (13.12.1999)

Searching for xsurf card (VEN_ID=4626, PROD_ID=23)....found
Board address = 0xe9000

ISA Plug and Pray [áhm] Play setup...
No PnP card found!

Searching for RTL8019 at 0x300...not found!

==========================================================

Is it faulty?
