The screen is really small and dark!

Hello
I've just started playing Warlords (used to love it as a kid) on the WinUAE emulator. The problem is, it only comes up in a box the size of 1/4 of the screen, and it's rather dark. Does anyone know how to fix this? I've tried adjusting the settings but I really don't know what to set it to.

Cheers

Hmm

Well Warlords shouldn't be dark so er turn up the brightness on your monitor!

As for the size of the window, in the winuae gui (f12) go to the display settings and either set a larger windowed resolution or select a fullscreen resolution from the dropdown box and tick full screen mode. Also make sure you tick doubled line mode as well (or scanlines if you're a freak).

Scanlines is totally evil, ruins the clean look, ruins the pixels... makes the games dark etc etc etc.... eeeeeeewwww. I rather eat cat litter and play a game in scanlines, FOR REAL! XD.

Yeah but you use a gamepad when you are supposed to use a joystick. Your opinion is not welcome here

Check the attached picture .

Someone make a poll thread so we can see how many prefer scanlines .

Even the chick got confused.

Make sure it's an open poll so they can be banned afterwards.

Looks much more than a TV with scanlines. Who wants to play such pixelated bullshit. The amiga games never looked like the left picture, only with WinUAE on modern PC monitors, bah.

But REAL TV scanlines are the best, thats for sure. Or play it on a old 14/15" Amiga or PC Multiscan monitor.

Yup, at the attic , collecting dust. I rather play games and stuff using WinUAE as it's much faster loading times, quicksave, as big harddrive as I want to have, tons of memory.... a system possible in winuae would cost TONS on a real Amiga.. Winuae RULES!!!....

That's not the point, Ironclaw. Where are talking about image qualities. I've tried WinUAE via the S-Video output to my TV. This looked pixel crisp, of course without scanlines activated. The modern 19" PC monitors causes the problems with the pixelated look, that for sure.

Yeah, but with a X-Box conntected to your TV. And i don't know why: But there is no Scanline brightness & intensity in WinUAE in Direct Draw mode.

Hipoonios has his computer connected to his widescreen plasma TV, and he has pixel perfect, über clear picture when playing games under WinUAE. I connected mine to my old TV, got blurry pixels, eeew... like in the old days.... so I prefer my laptop monitor .

Hahahaha, no way. Sorry, playing amiga games on a plasma is contrary to pixelperfect.

Edit: Aaah, that's the point. A laptop monitor is smaller, which " size?

He doesn't have the stretch image on his TV.. it's all good, believe me.

My laptop is a widescreen laptop... but don't have anything in widescreen that's not widescreen.... so when playing Amiga games, I have 2 fat black boarders on each side of the monitor.
