TURRICAN and TURRICAN II on Amiberry

After getting my old Amiga out of the loft I was disappointed to find it was not working anymore so I've instead installed Amiberry via RetroPie on a Raspberry PI 3 in a Picade.

I am trying to get my favourite games Turrican and Turrican II working.

For the Joystick mappings the fire key maps to CTRL on the keyboard which does cause the player to fire. However it seems that for the Turrican and Turrican II games CTRL also acted as the 'Pause' key so every time I hit fire a shot is fired but the game pauses!

I'm at a loss to work how to get around this. If I remap the joystick I can no longer fire as it seems that CTRL is the only fire option. Somehow I need to disable the pause within Turrican but not really sure if this is possible.

Turrican 3 works fine as it does not seem to have the CTRL to pause option.

I'm guessing someone must have had this issue and come up with a workaround? All help gratefully received!

Thanks for your reply. I'm using the Picade kit which comes with it's own built in Joystick so using an alternative joypad would sort of defeat the object of the Picade really.

I can configure the joystick in the Picade but the only way I can find to emulate the fire button is to set the button to map to CTRL. However CTRL is also the pause option in Turrican so the game pauses as described in the original post.

Hi It's WHDLoad. It seems that CTRL is the Fire button as well as the Pause button in Turrican (I and II). So whenever you Fire the game Pauses!

That's where JST & joypad control remaps come to play. To avoid configuring each game using the emulator configuration. Just set joystick as cd32 joypad and use JST to run the whdload slave, with joypad tooltype and proper options to remap the game (default: blue=space, play=P, rev+fwd=ESC, yellow=return, green=I don't remember )
