Lightbulb Missing some games

I noticed the following games are missing in HOL:
Jimmy's Fantastic Journey: Horizontal scrolling platformgame by Melon design. I downloaded it a while ago from their site;
Monsters of Terror: It is mentioned on the cover of Amiga Joker, March 1996 at Kultpower.de;
Die Nordländer: Mentioned on cover of Amiga Joker, July 1995 at Kultpower.de.

Re: Missing some games

Jimmy's Fantastic Journey
It's on the pile for insertion, just hasn't made it yet. I have an enormous stack of disks here (certainly over a hundred, but probably considerably more) and it's just a matter of starting at the top and working my way down.

Monsters of Terror
This game is shareware and had no (known) commercial release. If I am wrong, please let me know.

Die Nordlander
This is a new one on me. Does anybody out there have a copy? I suppose this belongs on my MIA list then, but not before I crawl through a few zillion files first.

The info is always appreciated, though, so feel free to keep 'em coming.

Arrow German games...

I had never heard of Monsters of Terror and Die Nordländer until I saw the titles on the Amiga Joker covers a while ago.
These German games which appeared in the late nineties are very rare.

Hmmm...another new one on me. I'll hunt for it later tonight (and Die Norlander...forgot about that one). Any additional info on Sendai?

Post More games missing

I have scanned in some reviews of Amiga Joker, May 1992 and are missing these games:
Theatre of War by Blue Byte, 1992. I remember I posted an advert of this game for HOL a while ago in the zone.
Hunt the Fonts by unknown publisher, 1992;
Kwix by Art & Fun, 1992.

If you like I will put the reviews of these games in The Zone next week.

Re: More games missing

Please do, because as far as I can tell, they are not on the Amiga (which is why we didn't use the advert for Theatre Of War.).

Floppy disk Kwix, Hunt the Fonts and more in The Zone

I have uploaded Amiga Joker reviews of Kwix and Hunt the Fonts in the Zone. Theatre of War will be upped tomorrow. The scans are of a low quality because I merely use them to OCR the text for my homepage.
Anyway, if you want the reviews in HOL, I will scan them in at 300 DPI in full color.

I have also put a scan of the Stone Age-review in the zip-file (it is on the same page as Catch 'em. The game is reviewed in July 1992 in Amiga Joker. This year does not correspond with the year mentioned
in HOL.

I've found "Realms Of Sendai". It's on Back2Roots but this is shareware/PD game.

Thanks for those, Tim. And you are right, Stone Age is definitely 1992. I have updated the HOL entry.

Also, all hail to 300dpi! Anytime a new user pops in asking how to scan for HOL, 300dpi is the one and only thing they really need to make sure of, so by you mentioning that, it's yet another opportunity to plug the importance of this!

Thanks, dude. Even as PD/SW, I still wanted this game. I was always an avid collector of PD/SW games back in the day, and I still am to this day. Sometimes these can be as tricky to find as the commercial releases. Sometimes harder!

Post Scenario - Theatre of War...

... the review is now uploaded to The Zone.

Also, I have found an Amiga Joker review of a CDTV title called Dinosaurs for Hire by Wrightworks III. According to the review it is an interactive comic in which the 'player' only has to flip the pages. I think this is more a multimedia title than a game. Maybe that is the reason it cannot be found in HOL.

Thanks for the scan. I reckon if they reviewed it, it must exist. Unless they were ever known to review ST or PC games like some other Amiga mags did, passing them off as Amiga games. There's still some AJ reviews I have seen that I am not sure the game exists for (like The Rocketeer).

Dinosaurs For Hire is on the list, only the entry in HOL just hasn't been created yet. In fact, for the last week or so, I have really fallen behind in my HOL work due to my job, but I should be back to full speed this week sometime.

Can you possibly re-scan the Theatre Of War review in 300dpi? There are text portions of it that look blown-own due to the nasty things 72dpi does (72dpi should be banished from existence, IMHO...)

Thumbs down Amiga Joker reviews

Well, I don't trust Amiga Joker anymore. Too many games reviewed by them were never released or only appeared on other formats (Son Shu Si, No Buddies Land, Buck Rogers II, Fill 'em, Kosmos, Space Wars, ATrophy anyone?).
I also have a AJ-review of Psygnosis' Creepers - a game which is probably never released on Amiga according to FromWithin (you know, the Psygnosis insider) in an other thread .

Theatre Of War will appear in glorious 300DPI full colour tomorrow in The Zone, B.T.W.

Lightbulb Alderan review

Here is another Amiga Joker review of a missing game in HOL: Alderan by Softlight, 1992. I have uploaded the low scan-quality review in The Zone.
