The case looks acceptable. Part of me wants one of these new systems but I just don't know what I would actully do with an OS4.x system for me to justify spending the money on it. Between my classic Amiga's and a PC I can prety much do what I need to do...I guess I'm waiting for something special to come out for the machine. I hope this and the X1000 make the money they need to in order to keep the development going though.

Sorry, I don't like what is inside and outside too.
[edit] ok, maybe this one is better for me, but I think something is still wrong: Last edited by s2325; 19 September 2011 at 01:32. |

I think they should have gome for the AmigaOne X500 name. This would be in keeping with the AmigaOne X1000.

Agreed, althought I wouldn't be surprised if if it turned out that Trevor has already registered the name with A-EON.

It looks like a '60s vintage reel to reel tape recorder to me.

This just doesn't interest me. It's way too expensive and only runs AOS4 rather than the superior MorphOS. The closest thing in spirit to a true modern Amiga is STILL a Mac Mini G4 with MorphOS!

Not many positive responses to this latest news from ACube here, or on any of the other forums either.
I wonder how they handle these responses "in house", or if they even pay attention to the many Amiga forum sites for feedback? |

The more I look at the case the more I think it looks pretty cheap.
Nothing to be positive about really. It's nothing new, just what they already had only sold in a package with Amiga on the case. Amigakit already sold complete systems for less than this...which is still too expensive. I don't know how ACube could have thought the response would be anything other than it is. |

The A500 was sweet and snuggly. This looks like an ugly tank. Where's the style?

True, it doesn't really look/feel anything like a 500...
Perhaps the AmigaOne 1500? That was a more awkward design and is closer name-wise to US price. ;-) desiv |

There isn't any confusion for the actual target audience and the new users won't be affected like the aging bitter masses... |

The second one is also a retouched picture of the first one possibly (not that it is much relevant)...
