Uploading (via FTP) to Aminet

Ok, I have to admit I am clueless about FTP. It's made worse by areas of Aminet's Wiki having "issues".

Does anyone here have experience uploading files to Aminet via FTP? Preferably via the windows command prompt.

I have uploaded stuff to Aminet in the past, but that was back when they had the easy-to-use webpage designed for uploading files.

Please help me

Regards,
Lonewolf10

Why would anybody do that? Get FileZilla and use that. It should be quite self-explanatory.

Because it saves me downloading some piece of software I don't need, as I already have the tools to do the job - I just need to know what the password and user has to be. Next you'll be telling me to download a character set editor, when there's one hidden in windows already.
Do I have to be registered on Aminet to upload now?

I'll try that if I can't do it my way.

Fair enough then

These login details work :
Server : ftp.aminet.net
User : anonymous
Pass : Doesn't matter

Use the 'new' folder for your uploads. Oh and someone tell the guys to remove my test upload...

Ahhh, thanks very much for that

Edit:

For anyone reading this in the future, there is an FTP guide here:

http://rotterdam.ics.uci.edu/info/DosFtp.htm

and an uploading to Aminet guide here:

http://www.lysator.liu.se/etexts/igu...p7.aminet.html

I timed out on my first attempt (spent too long reading the guides!), but now I have a simple instruction list I wrote, which I can follow next time I upload something

Edit 2 (16/3/11):

As the database over at Aminet Wiki is currently having problems, you'll have to check out past pages of the official Aminet Uploading Intructions page, thanks to the Wayback Machine:

http://replay.waybackmachine.org/200...g_instructions
