2 demos
i'm looking to name 2 demos i had, one had a scrolling sky backdrop (vertical) with a girl dancing in front of it, the music was called 'bad boy', it was a 1-disk jobbie.
the next was an AMOS rip-off in jesus on e's style (but not jesus on cheese) which was on 2 disks and just as long. it wasnt too bad tho. any ideas? |

coolage, thanks!
is this a known good file? seems to be a pink screen at the beginning and WinUAE whites out after 40 seconds or so while the music still plays. |

Seems there's a bug in either the demo or UAE. Demo tries to wait for the blitter and expects $dff000 in a6. However, A6 contains some random address so it hangs. No idea why that happens, will check on my real machine when I'm back home.

Attached is fixed version that you can watch on UAE. Some gfx corruption in the shadebob part though.

Yeah, it does. The disk doesn't even boot otherwise. =)
Edit: And it seems to require AGA as well, just tried it with an ECS config and it did show the mentioned pink screen. Edit2: Seems it only requires AGA for the title screen. Waiting for the blitter using Code:
btst #14,2(a6) .wb btst #14,2(a6) bne.b .wb lea $dff000,a6 Last edited by StingRay; 04 May 2009 at 10:13. |

i just tried that first dms file on my real a1200, and it works fine, no white out, the shadebobs show as normal and it carries on.

Sorry
Any dodgy code in that demo is my fault...
What can I say... I was young!, I needed the money! ... I was also a bit drunk when coding it. |

how comes you magically turned up here during this very topic in discussion?
or have you just been lurking until someone dangled a juicey enough carrot? |

I suspect he happened to use a search engine, found it, and joined. Not much lurking can take place in 6 days
Logik123, money?? Was there such a thing as a commercial demo coder back then? I had no idea |

Money??? Err... Beer money maybe ;-)
Off the back of this demo and some other half written game I managed to get my first job in the industry... and I'm still in the industry 17 years later! |
