Lightbulb Blizzard 1230 Ram upgrade.

Hi All,

I want to upgrade the RAM on my Blizzard Accelerator 1230 IV but just want to make sure its compatible first.

From what I have read you need EDO 72pin 5v 60ns ram right?

I was considering the following:

low profile:

http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/121248065...84.m1423.l2649

normal:

http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/130593572...84.m1423.l2649

Would they be supported? Any thoughts on 1 to go for or recommendations?

I figured might as well go for 128 MB.

Thanks.

Depends of the Blizzard version. The original accepts 64 MB; v.III 32 MB and v.IV 128 MB afair.

Its version IV, but will the RAM shown work on it? Any special requirements?

At least the second one seems to be OK.

As it's advertized as 4k, it's going to show just 64 MB on a Blizzard.

Could you please explain why? Will it take effect at all blizzard cards? Thanks.

Not sure what this means? Is 1 not supported?

About to buy this 1 but just want to be sure first:

My current setup doesn't let the door close anyway really. Thinking about making a custom cover or placing a small fan underneath then raising the Amiga with something like this:

Blizzard cards can't handle 4k refresh rate RAM (which consumes less power) as intended and tend to show just half of the memory. I did once buy a couple of them but managed to sell them to a PC user. Often it's difficult to recognize the refresh rate of the SIMM, googling might help.
