What's the best fighting game for the Amiga?
I just played Street Fighter II Turbo and it was quite nice, having combos and all.
Are there any more Amiga fighting games with combos? My top 5 list of the best fighting games on the Amiga is: 1. Mortal Kombat II 2. Ultimate Body Blows 3. Super Street Fighter II Turbo 4. Shadow Fighter 5. Fightng Spirit I prefere fast and smooth fighting games. Last edited by Ironclaw; 21 August 2006 at 21:15. |

Don't need fighting games.... I just watch my four kids tear each other apart - Mortal Kombat style.
Ahem.... 1. IK+ (return to time and time again) 2. Body Blows 3. Shadow Fighter 4. Shaq Fu (I think it has combos - can't remember) 5. Super Street Fighter series |

i concur with the last 4 guys to post Ik+, Panza kick boxing (when we finally got the English verison and could customize our own moves that was awesome), Elfmania was very pretty if a little lacking! and of course chambers of shoalin an old but still great game!
I also remember a robots game (NO not rise of the shite robots) but another one like metal mutants or masters or summat like that if i could be arsed to lookin hol right know i'd know which it was lol |

IK+ and Panza got it right, speed, tight controls, timing. All of the others where crap SF2 with onebuttonisallIgot conversions.
The beat em up genere is a bit hard on the amiga, or any system before 92. Street fighter II raised the bar for good playability with speed, combos, alternate characters, timing (one of the most important aspects of beat em ups) and pretty much made all of the old VS beat em ups obsolete. For example, the point of a weak punch (jab) is to get a few short in and then finish of with a hard punch (swing).. almost all of them got this wrong. And let’s not forget the “jump forward, nah I don’t feel like it move back again in the air” jump That is unless you count the sidescrollers like golden axe, good stuff. I play fighting games, but never would bother playing one on Amiga if it was had a Megadrive, SNES, or Neo Geo version.
