Sega controllers?

Does anyone know what Sega controllers work on the Amiga 500 besides the Master System ones?

What about Genesis controllers? I think it's the US version of the Mega Drive so will they work on a PAL Amiga? I guess so, but want to be 100% sure before I buy anything.

yup, the 6-button megadrive/genesis pads will work fine and are the best out there IMHO

They seem to be the easiest to get.

Or should I get some original Sega ones?

You will most 9 pin input devices of the 90s such as the Sega joypads will work.

I would recommend the 6 button official joypad for the megadrive like rattus says.

I would not go for the superpad or any other 3rd party pad, even an official 3 button sega megadrive pad would be far better, or even the arcade sticks are good.

Any controllers will work regardless of whether they were for PAL/NTSC machines.

Go for the *original* Sega Genesis/Megadrive 3 or 6 button joypads. Be careful of fakes!

Those joypads are by far the best ever.
Oh, keep in mind you won't be able to use most of the buttons, so pick the one that is more comfortable to you. Personally I preffer the 6 button model.

wow, the PSX DualShock pads are the best! I've been looking for a USB-PSX adapter to use on my mac...now I can have a CD32-PSX adapter for my miggy too!

I just need to convince somebody to build an adapter for me...

My Amiga DIY to-do list now has:
ps/2 keyboard adapter
ps/2 mouse adapter
PSX joypad adapter

All of which need PIC chips, so I'm planning on getting a PIC programmer. I was thinking, once I've made these for myself, of offering to make them for others... but I have a feeling this will be a while off...

You should see my DIY Amiga build list I started to make since 1996 when I found out about the hardware hacking zone in Aminet

Only built some basic tower conversions since then

some peeps on another mac forum have tried it out and aparently it works a treat with OSX's HID manager and USB Overdrive (not sure about rumble support though, but I can live without it)...I also have a nice transparent "graphite" PSone DualShock lying around that will match my G4 perfectly

geez...us mac users...its always about the aesthetics

HID = Human Interface Device

it means you plug it in and it just works, no drivers needed.

And this one is smaller and therefore cuter

Since I sold my A500 & only kept my CD32, I'm limited in how many hacks I can build for it

Was looking at the CD32 FDD hack, but that involves soldering directly on the mainboard :eek
