Quite nice mate Maybe there should be an element of EAB written in the title of the picture though, although as it stands now i think its quite apt.

I think a potential problem might be finding out when people have died. For example if I died Mrs Mushi wouldn't know to come onto EAB and let anybody know and you guys might just think I've left. Maybe I should express my wishes in paperwork
But apart from that I think it's an ok idea |

personally, and i mean not to offend anybody, i find it a odd and a bit morbid.
do this board need an obituary? i tend not to care about these sort of things being without faith myself, thinking about the live side of life. that's maybe not a general reasoning enough, so, that aside, let see... 1) is EAB so central in my life that my passing (way after all yours, mind you, so that the debate gets pointless ) should be mentioned here? ehm... no? if i would be dead as a rat, why should i care that you guys know? that would be pretty low on my agenda, i guess. 2) who would even let you know? 3) why should you care? friendly as we may be, there's enough real people in each one life to make him/her heart broken when they pass on, so it would really be hard to shed a tear about a faceless EAB guy. Please note that when in the past the community came to know about a member or a loved one' passing, it was only because it was of importance for the member involved, for one reason or the other. other than that, sorry to say it, but it's hypocritical to me. 4) Would it be of comfort a simpathy from EAB to my family, for instance? whaaa... no. (for the better or worse...) |

I support all ideas.
First, its bad there is a such an idea, would be better if people dont die and yes, it is morbid. Second, there are people who other people miss a lot and just say "It is bad that person passed away" is not enough. I like eab a lot, more and more each day and some people here (mostly faggots) become part of my life. And when your friends die, move to another country, become faggots etc, you wanna know it and express the sorrow (RIP, send a postcard/mail, beat that fag) in some way. You know, I dont know. I dont feel sure in nonghey topics, I am really sorry. Definitely I miss AntEater and Anubis (and Fred and Dizzy). I am in bad mood now, this thread makes me sad. I'm gonna watch some video with my goddess, bye now. |

@marco
Some people will care, I do and some people know the real EAB member too. @blade002 This was not solely designed for EAB members, it's purpose was aimed at anyone who has had a major influence on the Amiga community, like Fred Fish and the EAB community. @musashi5150 Not all fields need to be applied, if information is a bit sketchy then leave it out |

Although this thread may come across as being morbid, this is certainly not the intentions. I've heard many people mention this 'hall of fame' idea but no one has actually tried to create it or even organise it. Seems to me that it's probably a touchy subject anyway and no one can or wants to create it.
It's just an idea and I don't expect people to agree with it, but I think it's kind of nice and shows the world that EAB and it's members do care |

The idea is not bad, but maybe I would leave the big cross picture out and I don't know if the name 'Hall of Fame' is really suited. Maybe just call it 'R.I.P.'. However marco got a point about how we should know if member have just left or has passed away. Well just my two cents on this one.

A very delicate topic this one, with so many different people, a few different religions and a whole lot of different religious emotion types and life experiences...
I would definitely leave the cross alone and changed the name, no idea... something about our memory and thanks to those people, no religious symbols please. |

drop the christian stuff,
go for a generic non-faith-aligned-symbol and have it named Hall of Hero's those that achieve an input into the community (dead or alive) should have the opportunity to be nominated into its inclusion, kinda like the Oscars, just not rigged and less political. the Rest in peace could come to those hero's that have passed on. |

as you guys seem pretty on the same page, i will not say any more about it. still i think it's a bad idea... the r.i.p. stuff is mostly for people on the outside looking in imho.

OK, will lose the Christian symbol, never even crossed my mind that I may offend other religions, I should of known that.
Anyway, what would you guys suggest, I need ideas. Do I leave the R.I.P. with maybe some extra text saying 'for those who have departed' or should I lose that too. What sort of generic symbol can I use, maybe the Commodore one, the A from Amiga. |
