At some point, some time ago, before the last Psygore' slave, I had started looking at it.
Then I lost interest
I do not exclude that I may look at it in the future, but not now.

Thank you Ross; if you like to do it at some point, cool, if not, thats allright too
(you rock anyway )

Funny enough the "rare and most updated" version gives me some graphic garbage on the right screen. (only tested on the MIST)

The standard Thalion Bix Box release Exe makes no troubles.
(besides, i have to deactivate the CPU cache because otherwise the music is pretty messy, but thats the same as the "updated" one)

I made a neat little batch file for that

Hmm, I will try also the most recent WHDLoad Slave for Lionheart, to see the Changes made and how it runs.

Greetings to AlexH. I thank you and Hexaae

WHDLoad slave for Lionheart today is the best way to play the game... among the other things it fixed also reverse-cloud scrolling bug of original game, water flickering with horizontal lines, middle-screen horizontal line on AGA, 3rd level starting without hires-laced sky, and even fixed a corrupt tile in the first map... It's simply perfect now. Tremendous work by Psygore.

The best version ever of this glorious game, probably the best of its kind (action-platform) or one of the best ever made for the Amiga.

i.e. Same game, different box.
Sorry but no. The CRC of each of the 3 versions existing of Lionheart differs for each program code.

Just use ADF workshop, you will have confirmation of this.

If the TopShots version was the same as the Thalion collector v1 release, i would never have bought it.

The Collector v1, Collector v2 and budget v3 got program revisions.

This is great, but why can't all these enhancements be applied to floppy versions?
It's a bit of a shame (IMHO) and as a new Amiga user I find the ADFs more easy to use.

It would be interesting to see if some of these fixes have already been applied by Thalion on this new Softgold version.

I extracted all the files from the disks on the EAB fileserver marked :
Code:
(Lionheart (UK) (1994) (Disk 1) (Amiga) (Softgold - Thalion).adf
(Lionheart (UK) (1994) (Disk 2) (Amiga) (Softgold - Thalion).adf
(Lionheart (UK) (1994) (Disk 3) (Amiga) (Softgold - Thalion).adf
(Lionheart (UK) (1994) (Disk 4) (Amiga) (Softgold - Thalion).adf
I compared them to the files on the SoftPres IPFs. They were identical. They had the same timestamps and linux DIFF said the binary contents of the files were the same.

To double check I looked just at the Lionheart executables on each disk 1 just now. They are identical. They both have the md5sum (de1282304b753f4e2c7b7e2f6009f9fa)

Even ROSS previously in this thread agrees with me the Thalion commercial release and TopShots/Softgold release are the same.

I believe you that there are 4 (not 3) different Lionheart executables but the SoftPres IPF files and the Softgold ADF files on the EAB fileserver are identical.

They could be I'm sure. Feel free to try. Unfortunately Psygore who wrote the WHDload slave never releases the source code to his slaves. You can at least make your own ADF with the last "official" Lionheart exe with the AGA "fixes" that I linked to earlier in this thread.

They haven't. I've confirmed it. It is identical to the Thalion version.

That's all

The Updated version fixes actually a Major Bug; but 99,9% of players will never find it

(it´s not a game breaking bug; its actually a very funny one )

If you know a bit about the development of this Game, it´s no wonder.

You see, the Game was actually planed for Christmas but they could not finish it in time;
so they where forced to finish it as fast as possible to be out as soon as possible after X-Mas.

That would lead to another major story. A story that i dont tell

I've not heard this story, and I know them personally. Curious to know what it is.

Plus they took the time to make an X-mas Lionheart demo that was released as a games magazine coverdisk.

Well, it´s pretty long and XMas Season...so, no time.
But here is the short version
> It did lead to staff leaving Thalion and Ambermoon was then End.

That would be very interesting.
I only know that it let to such pressure that some of them left Thalion.

Like i said, would be really interesting to know from first hand.
(A Lionheart developer Q&A / Potcast /Interview)

What Erwin Kloibhofer, Erik Simon, Henk Nieborg & Co had to say
about the "rush for christmas" and the pressure they got.

If you ever have the opportunity, please ask them ( not only henk )
Lionheart is one of my all time favorite Amiga games !

Anyway, see ya soon
Take care Folks,
Torti
