This is perfectly wrong. Panza Kick Boxing was the first software, Best of the Best : Championship Karate is the follow up.

For the record, loriciel were in contract with Andre Panza, and they fucked him BIG TIME, hence the loss of Panza licence, and the renaming following to Best of the Best: Championship Karate.

Be sure of your references before asking such modifications.

Not needed to verify references, when here are clever people like you. Finally, everybody can see that "Best Of The Best" is the "second in line", because is 1993 and "Panza" is 1990, also there is the info "is an updated version of Panza Kick Boxing".
I just say, that every "Aka" needs the second side, otherwise "the link system" doesn't make a sense. In case of the second side doesn't exist, so the first side have to be deleted.

Exactly.

Alot of people confused those Titles, or arent aware of one or the other.

Best of the Best:Championship Karate is basicly a more expanded version with lots of new features.

Best of the Best was considered as Panza Kick Boxing 2/Gold Edition.

The WHDLoad version of Best of the Best has problems.

1) there is No Entry on Mantis Bug Tracker on Best of the Best
2) Its one of those games where player 1 is the Mouse !! (very annoying)
3) The Tempo can be all over the place. Music has also tempo issues
4) I tried to contact CFOU! because there is no Mantis Entry for this.

No response ; didnt even read my PM.

Anyway, just wanted to state that there are 2 Panzer Kick Boxing games
and the later would need some WHDLoad attention.

Most people dont know about the second game (Best of the Best)

The story says (from Panza himself that Futura/Loriciel never paid him a single penny... He said in an interview "they bankrupt the company and they fucked me big time".

From here, there was no way to use his name to make Panza 2.

I will solve the problem when I resume the patches probably not long. but for the moment I'm on too many different things to do...

in the meantime try the ExpChip option for the tempo problem

So what is the best way to report bugs? The one you describe, or via Mantis? Asking, because I have spotted a few myself, and been told to use Mantis elsewhere.

If you use the "Author/Contact (use it to report problems with that install)" link that can be seen in my screenshot, a Mantis ticket will always be created. It also has the advantage that the ticket will be assigned to the responsible patch developer as the bug reports are processed by Bert (Wepl) in this case.

Did not know that one. I guess, at the very least, a very interesting and unique "fighting game" came out of it

Yeah, it's nice to hear the background story. Panza Kick Boxing is one of my favourite fighting games on Amiga, and I always thought one which is a bit underappreciated.

It's also good to know that Best Of The Best is actually an expanded version, tbh I got so confused by all the different names on different platforms that I thought it's just another version of PKB itself.

Same I was always confused by the different name on Mega-Drive and SNES.
But i thought that it was the same game , just with a different name;
Even the graphics for the Fighters where exactly the same (thanks to dlfrsilver we know now why)

A few months ago i was playing the Mega-Drive Version and got curious.
I visited the Amiga Hall of Light and there it was Best of the Best Championship Karate for the AMIGA.

Its the bigger/better Version of Panza Kickboxing ;i find , but i have the feeling that the first one was better done on the Amiga.
For example; the Girl that Shows the Round Nr. looks not as well integrated as in the original Panza, and how on Earth could they set Player One to the Mouse Port ? so annoying

The Colours are also a bit odd; but ok. (has a bit of this Atari ST vibe; no offence )

Still, i am glad that this also exists on my beloved AMIGA

There is a WHDLoad Slave comming in the future that will fix the Mouse=1player issue;thanks to CFOU!


In case CFOU! will read this; Could you pretty please implement a feature that will save the password on game exit and loads it back on starting the game ?
That would be so dope

In any case, i hope people who liked Panza Kick boxing will now enjoy "the Best of the Best" (or both)

Speaking of Panza Kick boxing; was there ever a Engish version of it ? I only have a French Version. Not that i mind; just curious.
