Looks good, but I wish the makers of all adapters didn't assume we have (or want) a huge gap between Amiga and monitor. This was a problem with the humble RF modulator as well...
Have you thought of attaching the DB9 to the board with a ~20cm cable? This would give everyone a place to put it. AmigaKit has one, but it's enormously long so that now you have 3.2-3.6m of mouse cable to deal with... Last edited by Photon; 04 November 2022 at 23:41. |

Hi Sampedenawa,
Thanks for the news update! Will the v1.1.0 boards still be able to be modified to accept the v2.0.0 firmware with it's added benefits? Thanks for your awesome work! |

Sorry, but I don't get the point. Why can't you make use of a DB9-DB9 extension cable if you have such a need ? Just get a 9 wire strip, cut it at your needds, add a couple of DB9-crimp connectors and it's done. Quote:
Well, v2.x firmware will not work properly on v1.x hardware, BUT I am planning to release a patched v1.x firmware which, in conjuction with a small mod on v1.x boards (remove a couple mosfets, shorten their pins) will make v1.x boards functionally equivalent to v2.x |

Yep, it's Rev 2. I'm sending out the beta firmware and Amiga driver to beta testers, hope in a few days to release to all. Soon after will start porting the wheel support to Rev 1.x (but current boards need an easy hack to be compliant) |

HID2AMI v3.0.0 Unified firmware with mousewheel support
As promised, I am releasing soon the V3.0.0 firmware, which will add support for mousewheel to ANY adapter hw revision (v1.0, v1.1, V2.0).
The firmware can be directly flashed on all revisions, and enables native Mousewheel support in v2.0. In order to enable Mousewheel support on v1.x revisions, a couple of little hacks must be performed on the boards. I am attaching a couple pics here to show the mod; sooner I will post a detailed update on the github. After the mod, mousewheel works in v1.x all the same way it works in v2.0. Though the mod is quite trivial, it need a minimal soldering experience. I cannot be held responsible if anybody damages his board(s) while not properly performing the mod. Wheel support needs a driver on Amiga side; the driver can be freely downloaded from my github (look at "firmware" folder) Firmware v3.0.0 will be distributed in few days, by mean of the usual update channel. Last note: I am building a little batch of V2 boards. Should anyone be interested in having one, please contact me here. |

Well, didn't expect such amount of requests I ordered a production of a little batch, they will be ready in a couple weeks or so. The available quantity will depend on the number of stm32 uP I manage to find @ a reasonable price; still to date the ww chip shortage have a significant impact. (Anyway, I hope I can release a dozen boards at least, hopefully a little bit more). That said, I'll keep a quick reservation list here, serving first who first come, and satisfying all request until availability. Will notice you as soon as I will get a delivery date for the assembled boards. At the moment, reservation list looks like: Nick: Reserved Danko: 2 Solaris104: 1 Wiz12: 2 Pedgaard: 1 Last edited by sampedenawa; 13 November 2022 at 09:07. |
