Robinsons Requiem HDF problems

Hello everyone. I've been really getting into this game recently but I'm annoyed that my HDF I created won't boot automatically. I created an S directory and a 'Startup-Sequence' file with the name of the executable file to boot from. I've also tried setting the file as a 'script' file but that didn't work either.

The only way it will boot is if you hold down both mouse buttons to enter the early startup menu and then click on 'boot with no startup-sequence' and type 'start' at the command prompt. The game then loads as normal. Anyone got any ideas?? I've uploaded the file to the zone.

Hi Steve,

you can't get a HDF to boot just by creating a dir 's' and putting a startup-sequence in it (doesn't work for floppy either

). You need to install the Workbench on the HDF first and then change the default startup-sequence to load into Robinson's Requiem.
It's not so hard to do it. I have some HDFs set up this way, just not Robinson's Requiem

No, sorry CyberDruid but you are soooooo wrong.

You don't need Workbench to boot a HDF file. I have created plenty of bootable HDF's which load fine without using any Workbench files.

Okay Steve thanks for the info. Always thought it should be that way.
But for Robinsons Requiem you just need exactly that

Took one of my Workbench preinstalled HDF's and
placed the files from your installation over it. Changed the startup-sequence to

LoadWB
Start

and got a booting Robinsons Requiem HDF
