A4091, scsi zip & fat95
Hi Folks,
My A4000d has an A4091 and an external SCSI Zip drive attached. It works fine with FFS. Id like to get it working under FAT95 if possible so that I can transfer files between the A4000 and my PC without needing to break out WinUAE. Ive installed FAT95 and updated my DOSDriver for both l:fat95 and with a DOSTYPE of 0x46415401. I can format the drive on both systems - but the files dont appear when copied over - so plainly something isnt quite right. The OS is 3.2.2.1. Anyone got any tips? |

Did you select Window -> Show -> All files from the menu?

It can't be that simple not to know about it (show all files)

Haha no, it wasn’t that.
Some experiments with my dosdriver zip file settings and I got it working - I’ll post the working settings when I get home this evening! |

3.2.2.1 CrossDos Filesystem also works, no need for fat95.

I thought there was a long filename limitation in CrossDos?

Yeah, the DOSType and also the last letter of the mount file's name is relevant. It uses a combination of these to determine which partition to mount from the MBR partition table.
Usually you want the mount file to end in a C for the first or only partition. Check the 3.2 FAQ, Section 2.13. https://aminet.net/package/docs/help/AmigaOS_3.2-FAQ You can also hit the help key for the online help and this information is also there. Section 15 MountList and Mount Files has a list of all the DOSTypes that the included filesystem handlers know. The online help also has the FAQ in it. |

I shall take a look - I guess I defaulted to FAT95 from my experience with PCMCIA and the A1200 - this looks super interesting though! Thanks Jope, as always!
