Thumbs up

A relevant question:

Why not an Atari STE version?

STE machine demonstrates that is capable of;
see Metal Slug port running at 50 fps using giant single blitter pass sprites / bobs.

All the needed resources and high performance sprite formats are public available; assembly coded with excellent C language interface. Most of the hard work is done,

Clearly this is a commercial quality game, 3 companies working; and more audience, means more public for the Patreon...

I am sure you could do an ST version technically - would it be exactly the same ? Probably not? I am not sure how some of the effects that are created with sprites and copper tricks would translate.

Will we do an ST port ? Maybe - but the goal is to finish the Amiga version first. And the modern platform releases would be the next priority after that. People are equally screaming for a Megadrive and AGA ports.

Btw the current platforms I have successfully ported Metro Siege to are:
  1. Amiga (System Takeover)
  2. Amiga (OS Friendly)
  3. Windows (Native and Steam)
  4. Mac
  5. Linux (x86 and RPI)
  6. iOS
  7. tvOS
  8. Xbox One
  9. HTML (webasm)

Some other platforms I have done partial ports, but ran out of time and didn't complete them or didn't have access to the hardware to test.

Note: It's unlikely all of the above will get a release

The proposition is a STE version, not ST.

Due to ST is very much limited, due to CPU only for all stuff.

How will the netcode work in this game? Since it is only a 2 player beat-em-up and not more, could be good to look at rollback netcode. It's mostly use for fighting games, but in the Fightcade emulator(uses rollback for its netcode), beat-em-up games also support rollback, although only 2 player at the moment.

A video on how to implement rollback netcode [ Show youtube player ]

Can't wait to play it myself! It looks like the game Final Fight could have been on the Amiga.

Another Amiga Metal head then?
