Lightbulb What about Android?

I know you already talk about that, but what about an android version?

Uae4android is based on old sources and not very compatible. Is a port "easy to do"?

Thank you :-)

Well, easy is very subjective Yes, I think it is doable. -Would among other things have to write new modules for audio / video / input for Android, make the UAE code compile on ARM, and compile glib for Android (or replace it).

But one thing is to just make it run, another thing is to polish it, implement menus and GUI, and of course probably most time-consumingly, provide support for it

It would certainly require a high-end Android device (dual-core 1.2Ghz+ perhaps?). I don't know what performance it would ultimately have.

If you need a beta tester, don't hesitate

"only" own a Nexus S but could do all the test you need if one day you decide to do this android version :-)

While there are four different Amiga emulators for Android, they all are extremely unpolished, ugly and non-intuitive (even for Android's standards ).

UAE4Droid: https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...?id=org.ab.uae (UAE4All, not supported anymore (?), bluetooth controllers don't work)

AnUAE4All: https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...com.locnet.uae (UAE4All, paid app, more configurable but slow)

DroidPUAE: http://droidpuae.blogspot.com/ (PUAE, no user inteface - you have to manually edit config files in order to swap disks etc. )

PUAE (Amiga emulator): http://anddev.at.ua/news/puae_amiga_.../2011-08-31-41 (PUAE, probably slow (unoptimized), source code available: https://github.com/GnoStiC/PUAE )

Haha, this must be the worst possible way to emulate Amiga on Android. Emulated Amiga in an emulated x86 machine on ARM -but bonus points for creativity

I have UAE4Droid - appears to work relatively well for SpeedBall2! Not tried the others. Would be nice for a newer version - appears DroidPUAE has latest release in Dec 2011.

Would be nice with an UAE version for Android with good mouse emulation etc. So you could run WB on a e.g. Asus Transformer Prime.

you could always use a linux for android installer to make a debian install on a loopback file then use the debian arm ports of e-uae and uae....
just kidding... don't, its slow as hell!

I second this. I was disappointed in the free one available now, and don't want to buy the pay one as it doesn't sound much different. I'd like to be able to run AmigaOS from a hard drive image, not just a game floppy image.

Bumpity, as I've recently got an Android tablet exactly for this purpose (this little jewel here... the JXD S7100) just to find out that UAE4DROID has the worst compatibility of all times

I can't even play It Came from the Desert! While it runs fast and good, pressing fire also clicks with the mouse, so the game gets paused and I can't do anything There's no way to configure the emulator to behave differently, so I'm screwed I dunno if that's because of the physical keys on my tablet or not... can someone else try that for me? Thanks

I'll probably end up buying AnUAE4all, hoping that it won't be a massive disappointment and that it's a bit more configurable...

I've also installed DroidPUAE and PUAE. DroidPUAE asks me for a manual config file (I'll tackle that later), while PUAE loads a default config with a bootable SysInfo wb floppy which is pretty slow.. and crashes when you press the touch button for the other mouse button! If I remember correctly, it doesn't even have joystick emulation :P

We desperately need a good emulator for Android

After buying an app, you have 15 minutes to return it and get your money back. I bought AnUAE4All and found that it's too slow to use (on a 1GHz Hummingbird CPU) - actually all the emus from this developer are unoptimized and slow, e.g. AnDOSBox.

Edit: I managed to set up Wii remote (bluetooth controller) with UAE4Droid using these instructions: http://www.monroeworld.com/forums/sh...025#post273025

If an Amiga emulator was actually made that the developer put some effort in, I doubt you'd even need 1GHZ to run it...

The N64 emulator and PS1 emulators can run 3D games at 30 & 60FPS respectively, with a 1GHZ CPU, so I don't think an Amiga emu would need more.

EDIT: Just tried Nitro Cracked by Horizon on UAE4Droid, that goes to a blackscreen after the cracktro.

Like almost every game with a cracktro on UAE4Droid...

If only the Google Play marketplace would let me buy AnUAE4all

EDIT: Finally bought it, it's AWESOME! Fast, and compatible! A lot better than UAE4Droid Now I can finally play ICFTD!

http://nesbox.com/ http://snesbox.com/ It should work on Android web browser which can not accept some plugins.
edit: Nope, you still need latest Adobe Flash Plugin which you can not install
