Super League 2021: Round 3 - Switchblade II

Despite getting a fair few votes in the past it's the first time we've played this in the league. Time to see how high that score goes and discover what we can.

Switchblade II [lemon] [hol]
Welcome to Cyberworld and your quest, as Hiro, to defend the peace loving people from the return of Havoc. An evil being who uses the power of a nearby volcano to threaten the world with destruction. You can switch to a variety of weapons using shops. Your credits max out at $99. Ammo is finite. To do a high jump push down then up. There are secret areas on certain levels. And I have no idea what the fire blade is or does.

Round Ends: 23:59 (UK Time) on Saturday 13th March 2021

Rules:

Get the best score you can, during this round.
Post screenshots of your score in this thread, and write the score nearby.
Scores to be achieved without save-states, trainers, passwords, and cheats.
No continues or infinite score leeching.
Finish the game and post a screenshot of the end for the completion star.

Thanks to those who came along to watch tonight, it is appreciated! On my second go I got to the level two boss but then came unstuck. It seems like losing most of your lives in the boss fights is par for the course in this game. Plenty of things that annoy me about it but I shall no doubt try again. Check out the video on my channel if you fancy seeing how I fared

I had you on whilst working but only caught the start and finish of SBII. Came unstuck is one way to put.

Finally got to lvl 2 not familiar with this lvl so i was lost and i fell alot lol

Finally made it to LVL 3 holy crap, i had like 5 guys and i went through all of them getting to the boss and lasted 2 min with the boss. couldn't kill anything on the ramps up or down. wasn't ready for that lvl for sure

level 3 is brutal. I could pass levels 1 and 2 (restarting at level 2, that is...) but can't do anything with level 3.

hint (10 credits) : use the hills at your advantage. haha lol thanks! certainly some advice the baddies followed.

Those little tanks were the biggest problem for me and killed me the first time around there.
But you can just jump over their first bullet and destroy them with one slash of your sword.

Got this on Thursday (I didn't post until now because of laptop issues, but I'm back now, hurrah). So close to beating the level two boss but yet so far. This is almost a good game - actually there's lots to like but it's let down by some silly flaws and the levels outstay their welcome a little.

Great score ROM. The difficulty does jump up on level 3. I thought I was going to pass it but the boss got me too. Just couldn't get any of the tactics to work and messed it up.
