I hope too. Here, it works with 1.3.3, but fails with 1.3.4.
That must be an 1.3.4-specific problem. Try 1.3.3 and report me back guys! |

It works for me sporadic in 1.3.3. After saving over my 1.3.4 amiga500.uae config twice it works. But when i quit & restart WinUAE it doesn't work again.

Toni, can you explain what "drive_spind" and "drive_spinnd" does? (d=dos , nd=nondos? any difference)
are there any more drivetypes" ? in my soundpackage i only used "snatch, startup, click, spin" couldnt find these other drivetypes in the winuae readme.txt file either ive put 2 files here for sound comparison.. 1 is the real a500 drivesound, 2nd is the winuae drivesound using my drivesoundpackage from the real a500 1. http://www.xtremesr.com/trackah123/reala500.mp3 2. http://www.xtremesr.com/trackah123/winuae500.mp3 Last edited by trackah123; 10 January 2007 at 09:00. |

Hello all... I've taken a look at the new samples, nice clean samples... mmmm
In order for the clicks to work correctly (currently WinUAE is only using the first click) each tracks "click" needs a high value sample (above 0xe000 I think, I usually use 0xffff) sample value just before the "click"... (amping the sample by 300% as a quick hack does the trick, and lets WinUAE use all the clicks, which does sound awsome...) I've put the amp'd samples here, for anyone to try.. (extract the files into your uae_data folder) (A demo of the new sounds is [ Show youtube player ], hmm... can we embed objects in posts? cant seem to embed the video directly... oh well click the link to show it in youtube...) i amped the click sound by 300% myself.. it sounds fun on the heavy loading parts lol you should try rock n roll game once Last edited by trackah123; 11 January 2007 at 01:16. |

ok i lost floppydrive sound now in WinUAE 1.3.4 after i uninstalled my amd dual core driver and after removing a amd dual core switch in the boot.ini file of windows xp /usepmtimer
tried reinstalling the driver.. but still no sound i see 1 difference when i compare my working winuaelog.txt and the not working winuaelog.txt 13-640: SOUND: 5100 = (5292 - 192) <-- floppysound working 20-484: SOUND: 5124 = (5292 - 168) <-- floppysound not working winuae 1.3.3 works fine with floppysound.. i must have triggered something in 1.3.4 so that the floppysound stopped working and i have no idea how i triggered it anyway i recorded that rocknroll game (loading sound) with winuae 1.3.3 and yeah the drive is rocking all right http://www.xtremesr.com/trackah123/rocknroll.mp3 i used to play this game at a friends house in the past.. but his dad never let me because he was to afraid his floppydrive would die because of the insane loading sound coming thru that room Last edited by trackah123; 11 January 2007 at 11:17. |

You are jumping to conclusions. I repeat: drive sounds are mixed with paula audio in software. If you hear paula audio you can also hear floppy sounds.
ALWAYS check the log first btw, I don't recommend removing /pmtimer switch, it can cause timing issues (there are some MS knowledgebase articles about it) spin = motor sound with disk spinnd = motor sound without disk (only click is mandatory sound) |

well i didnt want to jump to any conclusions..
its just that 1.3.4 stopped working with floppysound and 1.3.3 works with floppysound.. here are the logfiles of 1.3.3 / 1.3.4 http://www.xtremesr.com/trackah123/133winuaebootlog.txt http://www.xtremesr.com/trackah123/133winuaelog.txt http://www.xtremesr.com/trackah123/134winuaebootlog.txt http://www.xtremesr.com/trackah123/134winuaelog.txt btw the built-in floppysound of 1.3.4 still works. but when i select my soundpackage or another one like LOUD or ST .. it automaticly jumps back to "no sound" .. while ingame sound (gamesound etc) works fine in 1.3.4 .. in 1.3.3 everything works without any problems. I know it's really bad form to bump a thread this old, but has anyone got a link to these drive sound files or could upload them somewhere please? The original links are long dead. Really desperate to get hold of these.
Nice one. |

I know. I've got those ones. It was these sounds in particular I was interested in after hearing the demo on YouTube. The sounds I've already got don't sound like my old A500.
