If you just mentioned "corrupted archive" then it's easily eplained, the archive itself can be depacked without errors hence no "corruption" is visible when doing a quick queck. Please be as specific as possible when requesting such changes. I have replaced the download link now.

Why not? If you're absolutely sure you're right on this one, then the link should definitely be changed.

Apologies, I used the quick form for replacing links, rather than going to "Fix Me Beautiful". I thought I mentioned it was corrupted there, but then I suppose I left too little information.

StingRay, yes, I should've explained more clearly on the form. My fault. I guess I had a feeling I would get into more trouble if I pressed the issue.

I won't bother with the form anymore, but I will go straight to "Fix Me Beautiful" for future requests, at least there's room for a conversation and room for me to explain things in more detail. It's helped before with another archive that needed to be replaced, as I recall.

Thanks for replacing it, anyway!

Please use it! If you specify why something needs to be fixed, it's quickly done. Posting in the "Fix me Beautiful" makes sense if you have noticed problems that can't be explained in a few words.

It is not an emulation problem. All glitches during demo are also confirmed on real hardware. Tested today by K.

I have this demo, it works up to the witch's head moving from side to side, fades out and then it ends.

Is the YouTube video at the Pouet link representative of the entire video? If so, this is what I see on WinUAE.

Correct, Amcio.

I always thought the demo ended abruptly on WinUAE, and I'm sure I've seen gurus after the witch's head. And the files in the archive do mention a tunnel, so yes, it is not running properly on WinUAE.

Yaga by Anadune

Nothing to do with WinUAE.
It's a matter of 'bad' file name, see The Zone! for a fixed version.

You need a fast Amiga for this.
2nd part is nice, especially the tune.

abra kadabra!!

The worst case I have seen :

Subspace-Ubergirl (same version tested on WinUae and on real hardware).

Normally, a checkerboard appears on hardware but does not appear under WinUae (never worked correctly under WinUae). I'm not sure this is due to a " normal " CPU issue.

The log reports "Bad Playfield Pointer" ( pic 1 ).

Real hardware ( Plain A1200+Fast ) :

[ Show youtube player ]

WinUae :

[ Show youtube player ]

I think also this has nothing to do with WinUAE.

From the actual real 1200 video it appears that there is a bit plane left free to roam in chip memory.
Normally the state of the newly powered RAM is formed by a combination of on and off 'checkerboard stripes' bits.
Is the checkerboard regular or does it have 'smudges'? (hard to tell from the video)
Of course WinUAE won't emulate this (zeroing all memory) because bit stripe patterns are random.

However my are only guesses, I haven't looked at the demo code

I stand corrected.

Can I tell the Pouet.net admins to accept the new file from The Zone? It should be shared for everyone on Scene.org.

Looking forward to seeing the second half of the demo!

I don't know.

I will ask the person who tested this demo on the real hardware.

There is special edge case that can cause corrupted output for single scanline if line's bitplane pointer crosses end of chip ram. This part was emulated using optimized routine (no midscanline changes) that simply did nothing if bitplane crossed end of chip ram. (with a comment that this should have been fixed, probably added in some pre-0.8 UAE version )

It probably won't affect this demo (except perhaps single random scanline being wrong) but it is finally fixed in next beta.

Y'aga (Demo) by Anadune --> http://janeway.exotica.org.uk/release.php?id=18410

This one seems to work fine! (tested on QS A4000 040 64MB Ram)

Not sure why in The Zone! one has different CRC in yaga.exe than this one?
