It might be a stupid suggestion, but have you tried deleting the partitions with gparted on Linux, before setting the cf up?

I realised this early on when I checked to see if my MaxTransfer had gone in. Since noticing that, I have always hit enter with every text value I enter, but still going round in circles... |

Thanks for the suggestion! I hadn't thought of that, I just followed the diskpart/clean routine that seems to work for everyone else. I will try with gparted today in Ubuntu. Another thought I had was that the Kingston CF reader might not be good for writing partitions, but if it manages a clean command successfully, then I don't see partitioning being a problem. If I can't get anywhere with gparted/Linux I may order another brand of CF reader, just so all bases are covered. |
