Amiga vs. DOS games suggestions Part 2

I'm making another Amiga vs. PC video.
So now is your chance.. if there are any games you think definitely should be included, please say so now and not after the video is done

Here is what I'm looking for -

- Games released at the same time for both machines
- Games released no later than .. say 1991 or around there (I'm being generous)
- Games that look great on the Amiga

I pretty much only used Amiga back in the day so I'm kinda clueless about what cool Amiga games have PC versions as well.. so I would greatly appreciate any help!

I might include Monkey Island 2 but one Lucasarts adventure game is enough. Perhaps a Westwood adventure game as well such as Kyrandia. I'll see.

LOl... Amiga will look bad in comparison... indy 4 has more colors and talk version on PC, and MI2 has more colors and more music.

Please take games that were released in the same year, where the Amiga version is better .... maybe Moonstone?..

Try Lollypop. It's a nice game, the PC version is good too. Not natural for a 2D PC platformer. There is even a DOS CD version with audio tracks.

uh- rise of the robots? ;-) ;-) .. did that even come out on the pc?

.. I wouldn't limit the date myself... i think you should just bang out a load of games that was available on both systems without being biased :-)

*cough* turrican 2 should be added :> - hey- why not add em even though theyre different dates and actually state the dates of release?

Give me more suggestions

I really want to work on this thing but I have no idea what games to put in there

Preferably not too obscure titles.

EDIT - nah, I won't include Turrican 2. There are years between the releases. I won't include Last Ninja Remix (Amiga) and Last Ninja 1 (PC) either for that reason.

Eye of the Beholder perhaps, all the other ones are too new (released after '91, I don't want games from after around then). Well, perhaps Kyrandia though.

Why limited to 1991? I thought you wanted now another video comparision? Which shows the advantage of VGA und better PC soundcards too.

Hmmm yes... but VGA cards were released already in 1988 I thought?

And decent soundcards were also available in 1991?

I just don't want the PC to get too far ahead, speed-wise

Nobody had an expensive VGA card in 1988, it was affordable for the masses maybe in 1990/1991. So a lot of old PC games from 1988-1990 still used CGA/EGA graphics.

I just think it's kind of unfair to compare the old Amiga 500 to say, 1993 PCs.

Perhaps if we can find some AGA versions. That would be more fair.

Sure, no problem. Compare Chaos Engine or Biing AGA with their PC counterparts.

Thanks for the suggestions. I'll see which ones I'll use. That should be enough AGA games anyway, there isn't that much room in a 10 minute video

It's a shame many of the really impressive Amiga games were never ported to the PC (Shadow of the Beast 1&2 and other very impressive games).

This was the time of 2D PC adventures. Action games were made for consoles and the ST/Amiga.

Yeah, it was hard to do perfect scrolling on PCs back then I believe.
