Checkmate 1500+

If I want to setup my A1200 into a Checkmate 1500+ cabinet, what do I need if I want to have these specs (for a start) ?

1.) CD/DVD (full size)
2.) CF Card as boot drive
3.) USB Wireless Keyboard/Mice (or wired USB)
4.) Gotek drive and a real FDD

I guess I wasn't specific in my question

What do I need for making 1 and 2 to work together ?
What do I need for having USB mouse/keyboard (wired or wireless) ?
What do I need for have both Gotek and FDD work at the same time ?

SFX PSU is ofc. needed

Be careful with SFX power supply, most won't supply such a low voltage and just switch off after a few minutes. You can now buy a working SFX power supply directly from Steve.

As far as getting all that stuff working with an A1200 it's kinda irrelevant if you are housing it in a Checkmate case or not.

Personally I decided to go with a MiSTer FPGA computer instead because it was cheaper than using real hardware and more reliable.

My experience of using SFX power supplies in these cases was:

- Initially bought a brand new 'Bequiet' SFX PSU which worked, but the 5V line measured quite low (4.75V or thereabouts). I'm running an A500+ with the Checkmate sidecar power supply/zorro slot board. While this seemed to run the system OK, I did have stability issues. I don't know how much of this was down to the PSU as there were other issues too (it turned out some of the ICs/sockets on the board needed a good clean, also I think updating the TF536 firmware recently helped).

- Swapped the new PSU for a Seasonic PSU which I think is about 10 years old, purchased second hand off ebay. This appears to have 5V as primary and the current rating for the 5V supply is the highest. I'm now measuring 4.95V on the 5V rail which is a bit more like it. System seems happier as a result.

As far as I understand, new PSUs are likely to have the 3.3v supply as primary and are less likely to be stable if used on a primarily 5V system like the Amiga.

1&2 - a 4xIDE Adapter -
https://amigastore.eu/en/129-4xeide-99-interface.html

3 - for keybaord , a SUM1200 although most places have them out of stock.
https://amigastore.eu/en/432-sum-usb...for-a1200.html

4. If both internal, a dual floppy drive cable:
http://amigakit.amiga.store/a2000-a4...l?currency=GBP
I prefer to have one internal and one external , in the case of the Gotek I got an old external floppy drive with a broken floppy drive, hiked the drive out and replaced it witha Gotek.

@Novacoder

Where did you get your MiSTer FPGA and did you set it up in the Checkmate case?

Is there any1 outside UK who sell the Checkmate 1500 case

The price now after the new EU rules will be insane.

I guess the price will be an ekstra +£50 in VAT + some custom taxes. In all probably around £70 for getting it to Denmark

@BanisterDK

The Amiga 1200 won't accept two floppy drives, or floppy and Gotek, as it doesn't have the run signal for DF1 routed internally. Instead, it's routed to the external floppy drive socket.

Just tried that myself with my A1200 in a tower set up

Just built up a Checkmate case with the following:

A1200 Rev 1D1
Corsair 450 SF PSU
Blizzard 603e 68040+PPC+SCSI+256 Fast RAM
GREX 1200 PCI board with PCI extenders to house 3DFX voodoo 3, rtl8029 network and Ess-1 Solo soundcard
1 x Amigakit buffered IDE board plus Gayle Adapter for IDE SD2IDE
1 x internal A500 floppy drive (switchable DF0
1 x internal Gotek Drive (Switchable DF0
1 x Rapid Road clockport USB
Switchable ROMs (3.0, 3.1, 3.1.4, DiagROM)
Routed outside and underneath the case by use of Keyboard garage standoffs and rubber feat: 1 x SCSI CD drive & SCSI2SD (Connected to 603e Accelerator) and powered USB hub with USB card reader/writer.

For both my switchable Floppy and Gotek to use DF0: (Can be switched whilst running Workbench) I bought mine off MiggyRetro on eBay here:
