What's the easiest way to work with HAM graphics on a Mac?
I've decided to take up the challenge of making a HAM scrolling game.
The coding is no big deal to me, but I wondered if there were any online tools for converting to HAM? I'm using a mac. Ideally an online tool would be fastest, or a GIMP plugin maybe? I've got my graphics I just need the easiest way to make them in to something the amiga can read, IFF ideally. I've written a html5 app to make the graphics as close to HAM as possible so that they will convert over in the best possible quality, but I don't fancy writing an IFF export routine unless I absolutely have to. |

I'm just doing it for a 1MB A500+ (because that was 'my' machine) it should work, probably faster, on other systems. I've got the basic engine working, with a sprite multiplexer, just need to get some real graphics in. HAM has its limitations, but I'm surprised there are so few games using this mode. |

Back then games needed to work on any 1mb Amiga. That meant limiting to 512k of chip which runs out quickly with HAM assets.
