Either that or RCK's taken down the server for some reason.
*** Using server entry abime, generic network entry *** Error 10061 (Connection refused) Seems like whatever it is the server isn't having any open ports. My guess is he took it down, maybe to upgrade, maybe to save bandwidth. |

hmm, I'd say Jambot broke it.
Or the IRC server has shut itself down due to an error, and the only way to start it back up is by rebooting the server or RCK doing it remotely. I'd say they will be no chat until RCK get's back I guess we should be thankful that the whole server hasn't crashed |

Isn't RCK running the IRC server from the same server as the rest of Abime.net? Think he's running it on linux which would mean it's possible to just restart the application remotely if he could.

AFAIK the IRC server is another program running on the main server, just like the kaillera server is.
Fact remains though, RCK won't be fixing it whislt he's on holiday, he'll be to busy soaking up the sun or skiing down some slopes to look in here. And if he does fix it I will be most displeased, he should be enjoying himself not fussing over us |

As far as I remember, RCK said the IRC client was not being loaded on startup-, he was loading it by hand. So if the server got resetted, teh IRC client didn't restart itself.
Could be it, dont you think? |

There's something going on between Amigaboy and LastNinja. They're sharing the same bed, that's for sure.

Maybe there was just a power outage and RCK hadn't connected the server to an UPS.

there's the emu-uk one still up and running.
irc.webchat.org #emu-uk seems to be a smidgen on the laggy side though. if someone set's up a better one make sure you ops me newnet #abime.net also setup seems more appropriate Last edited by Ian; 21 January 2003 at 01:06. |
