help identifying snes game

I need some help identifying a snes game. All I can give is a 17 year old description.

The game was very similiar to contra (overhead view of your character). It look place in some type of lab where an experiment causes a dimensional break in reality and monsters from another dimension start coming through. I seem to remember lab workers in white lab coats and possibly some puzzle elements where you gather objects to seal the breech. There were of course a smattering of boss monsters sprinkled throughout.

I played the game on my Super Procom back in the day and it had a group release intro on it. My BBS at the time was listed in the intro but I can't for the life of me remember what group I was affiliated with

Not bad with SNES games though... I quickly read the description before and nothing sprang to mind, I'll have a think over the weekend

Contra didn't have overhead view except when playing map part.

This game sonds more like Chaos Engine from description, but I can't remember any SNES games like that.

Do you remember weapons or status bar?

Could be Operation Logic Bomb.

Is this game related to Ikari Warriors by any chance?
The japanese title is Ikari no Yousai.
In terms of gameplay they're pretty similar.
