CF IDE freezes mouse

I am puzzed why my IDE CF Adaptor is causing my mouse/A1200 to freeze with or without a CF card attached. Any ideas guys? See link: http://cgi.ebay.com.au/New-CF-To-2-5...742.m153.l1262 Perhaps I am connecting it the wrong way around?
If so will I damage the motherboard?

I had a similar issue with my ORIGINAL mouse.
Turned out the IDE was fried.
Try with a hard drive see what happens.

I have tried new and an original Amiga mouse but still have the same problem. Also, my 40GB hard drive still works fine. Perhaps this adaptor is not compatable? If this is the case, can anyone point me to a compatable CF-IDE adaptor on ebay?

i'm having the exact same problem as chris.
when i connect my newly bought ide adapter (with or without cf connected) in my A1200 it causes the mouse to freeze. the left and right mouse buttons still work, though..
