Format cylinder 0

I have a bunch of Amiga floppies... been formatting them in Winuae with my catweasel and pc floppy drive. Been trying to write to them with the catweasel image tool ( without luck and see other thread

) but a lot of my floppies can`t be formatted in Winuae.
80% of the time I get ` could not format cylinder 0 ` is this a Winuae bug perhaps? it happens alot.. I`m using a basic WB setup, infact its wblite hd file.
Any ideas?? I have other setups but my floppy isn`t found in the others

I know you said they're Amiga floppies, but now a days it's tougher to make that blanket statement. I've got both DD & HD floppies from Amiga auctions. All my original cache is 880K DD 3-1/2" diskettes, but the newer aquisitions are a mix.

Are you using a typical 1.44MB PC floppy drive? Double check to see if you are using typical 1.44MB PC floppies? If so, try putting a piece of tape (both front and back) over the hole on the to top left corner of each disk. Not the write protect tab, but the "DD/HD" hole. This has worked in the past for me on my both A600 and my Catweasel MkIII. I know it doesn't make them a DD floppy or a DD drive, but it helps enough with compatibilty at times.

No no, these are proper 880k disks from back in the day.. I dug them out of my Mums loft.. I went through them all.. and formated some.. but most of them, Winuae says it cannot format cylinder 0.
