Lightwave
Can anybody help me to obtain a copy of Lightwave?
I have already contacted Newtek, and they have told me that I may be lucky and find a copy for sale somewhere, other than that they did not seem interested. I assume that they do not sell an Amiga version anymore, as they did not offer to sell me one. I used to have a copy of it, the real thing, not a copy, but I sold it years ago. I cannot remember what version it was, but it used to chugged along quite nicely on a 68030 fpu machine. Please contact off list.............. |

I believe Lightwave is old enough to be considered an old app request. I have one version here (7 disks). If RCK agrees I can up it in the zone.

Lightwave is old, and new. Depending on which version you're using. AFAIK there are still being developed versions of lightwave, even if there aren't any for the Amiga.

That's what I meant. A Lightwave version for the Amiga is an old one. There are no newer Amiga versions nor are the older ones avaliable for sale AFAIK.

They will be at the Slash4 Party here in Bordeaux [Board oh!] Maybe we can kidnap of them to have a new version !! Lightwave under Amithlon Running faster than Windows version could be a really nice thing. do you needs more stuff like Characters, textures, objects. |

I'm using lw 7.0 on the PC at the moment but version 7.5 is released. It's the best 3d package you can get for your PC and it's way cheaper than it's rival, Maya.

They are still (as far as I can see) offering Lightwave at this Norwegian shop (which ships worldwide):

What is your configutation ? Hardware ?
You're still working on Amiga with a 5.5 version ? I hope Newtek will back write a new amiga version. Here they said that they could make an upgrade price for an amiga version to the PC version. So Newtek do not said like the previous message at the top Lightwave is a jewel. |

No I haven't used the Amiga version. I started using lw when I was already using a p2 pc. I'm using an Athlon 800 with GeForce2 now. I'm still in need of more gfx and cpu processing power for rendering speed though

Yeah i've got the same problem for rendering.
I hope PegasOS or AmigaOne will be as strong as it seems to be. Bi-G5 on the mother board with AmigaOS !! I will be a really nice dream ! With Newtek's come back on Amiga |
