Ross presents: Street Rod 2 (Fully Working Version)
Hi all, a little release for EAB users:
Street Rod 2 - Fully Working Version The game previously only worked on KS1.x, now in all Amigas and in any configurations. Patch for KS2.0+ was done in a very peculiar way (maybe I'll write apart something technical). Among the bugs there was also a nasty one that prevented the end scene to work properly. Also NTSC/PAL support on ECS+ machines. Cracktro is a reworked one from an original by Alliance Design (debugged, polished and with proper 020+ support). Thanks to demoniac for the deeply beta test. Into the Zone! Enjoy. |

Yeah, great work Ross!
Some issues I saw though: On A1200 it says "Can't init sounds" if I try to start it from WB, and with 060 enabled it glitches in the Aqueduct/Mulholland drive race (looks like missing blitter waits?). Also there must be something wrong with the game since I lose every race |

Do you mean the 'integrated' WB or an external one?
Because the 'external' one require the "faudr.device" in DEVS: Launch the game, exit, then start it from its WB, you will see that it works [more memory required than standard 1MB from WB, no problem on A1200] Yes, this "fake" device is some magic I made to make it work in KS20+ Quote:

Ah yes, I meant from normal WB inserting the disk. "ASSIGN DEVS: DF0EVS ADD" fixed the sounds issue.
Just FYI (doesn't need fixing since it can be played w/o accelerator from disk - like it was meant to!): Still same way glitches even with caches disabled ("CPU NOCACHE" form WB or disabling them in boot menu). Also noticed that if I start if from WB it's too system friendly for it's own good. Some screens seem to use "best available" mode which is productivity from WB for me (even if I run normal HI-RES PAL) so it switches to that which messes up the screen quite a bit Last edited by paraj; 18 July 2022 at 19:08. |
