Super League 2021: Round 5 - Pang & Lotus Esprit Turbo Challenge

Our first double round of the year and there is an extra week to get your scores in for these classics. Voting for round 6 will start next week.

A great coin-op conversion of the 1989 ball bursting arcade game that was originally called Buster Bros. There are a total of 50 levels. Ocean can make good games.

Lotus Esprit Turbo Challenge [lemon] [hol]
Iconic car. Iconic racing series. If you beat all the the races and come top of the results table there is a message which you could send to Gremlin and receive a Lotus License in the post. Still haven't seen one of these online. Anyone got one?

Round Ends: 23:59 (UK Time) on Saturday 1st May 2021

Rules:

• Get the best score you can, during this round.
• Post screenshots of your score in this thread, and write the score nearby.
• Scores to be achieved without save-states, trainers, passwords, and cheats.
• No continues or infinite score leeching.
• Finish the game and post a screenshot of the end for the completion star.

Special Scoring and Rules:

• IMPORTANT - Pang: Most cracks were made from an incomplete beta version of the game and have some elements missing that will affect the scores. You must use one of the linked versions below when entering the competition.
• Pang: Play on Normal mode. Start from Stage 1.
• Lotus: Play all three difficulties and add the scores together.
• Lotus: For the completion star finish the hard races and come 1st overall. Screenshot the congratulations message.

Minor alt to the first post because I hadn't checked it properly. For the Lotus completion star screengrab the congratulations message after finishing the hard levels and coming 1st overall.

The Easy races have a few trickier ones than I remembered. Sweden and China gave me some bother. A bad combo of traffic and hills.

Aw, so close to beating Pang Graham. I can't remember how hard it gets later on but not sure I'll get that far. Can't resist popping everything at once.

I've been mucking about with Lotus. Reckon the top speed in the game might be 189mph. Did it in Mexico. Don't think there's a faster track. Wanted to hit 190 but it seemed to limit the gains to 189.

Thanks. I was first in Wales once in my lifetime. In that play of 285 I was second in Wales but only 4th in Antarctica. Well, I doubt I can improve this as Wales is a lottery and my playing skills have fallen behind as I am older now.

Don't think I've ever done better than 4th in Wales. Good to know max points is possible even if there's a huge bit of chance involved. Plus it's seriously hard.

Really seems to be max speed (btw., that equals 304 km/h).
