This is kinda long ago, so it might be one of the disks were TOSEC versions. But that's nothing more but a very vague assumption. Well, could you please re-upload your two disks for verification? Thanks. |

At this rate I'll doubt I'll ever see this late game crash. Got inspired enough by the thread to try the Quartex/Goonies 1991 t+3 version & being driven mad trying to locate all the damm logs on level one.
Found a totally new area below a waterfall but made the mistake of making my restart point down there, now I can't make my way out! How you lot managed to make it to level 9 is beyond me! |

Crazy guy, keeping all my old PMs.
Thanks WindowsKiller! OK, please re-upload Disk 2 then. Looks like this was on my broken HD only. |

Indeed. ARGH! F*CK THIS MEMORY! (and this 35°C + heat) I love summer, but this heat really lets my RAM refreshing routines work wrongly Quote:

Where's this rumored 100% version of First Samurai? I have the Crystal crack, but it has the high score messed up and all save states are already pre-filled. Also I read here there is supposed to be a crash later in the game.
I have the Quartex crack as well. It has a correct hi-score and the save states are empty as well as it should be, which sounds good. But here in the thread it was mentioned it crashes later in level 8. So is any version verified 100%, and where is it? I am so tired of broken cracks. |

i see you are based on USA, what is your hardware config? i'm asking cause what could work on some setting couldn't on others ie NTSC or AGA or kickstart version could lead to different results i haven't tested these other releases yet (completely i mean), but on Tosec there are also other two cracks to test, Melnok and Two live Crew Last edited by kremiso; 28 July 2022 at 15:29. |

the Tosec seems having the crack version and the modified high score disks mentioned and updated the op should try this set : First Samurai, The (1991)(Image Works)(Disk 1 of 2)[cr CSL][f crack v2 CSL] First Samurai, The (1991)(Image Works)(Disk 1 of 2)[cr CSL][f crack v2 CSL][t +19 LGD] First Samurai, The (1991)(Image Works)(Disk 1 of 2)[cr CSL][f crack v2 CSL][t +4 Supplex] as disk 1 and First Samurai, The (1991)(Image Works)(Disk 2 of 2)[cr CSL] as second disk the other second disks have the high score modified |

I had this game in the mid 90's as part of a compilation from UBI SOFT, so it was not a crack at all, and it didn't work past a futuristic level with some robots. Unfortunately, i was too lazy too ask for disk replacements (or if i did i never played again). So the problem might not be the crack.

all should be ok i think
btw i have just made some tests with the [t+19 lgd], loading all the levels in sequence Quote:
back in the day i was very good with this game, i remember to have completed it a couple of times without issues (on a500 512k+512k kick1.2 hw) it was the first Crystal crack, untrained release never used the save option i can say, i was able to play it entirely in one or two hours iirc now i'm wondering if perhaps the continue (as reload) option could lead to some issues or a different hw config? |
