How accurate is "Match A500 Speed" on Winuae?

Seems quite slow at times even in Workbench, was the A500 really like that?

I guess its hard to determine what is slow. Fastest possible setting works better but its sucks a lot of CPU power.

Basic A500 is 'slow' (note that it was extremely 'fast' in 1980s)

"Match A500" is approximate but does not require much CPU power to emulate, "Cycle exact" is very accurate but requires much more CPU power.

Ok thanks.

Just I was playing Syndicate with A500 speed and it was painfully slow (I am used to the PC version).

Original Syndicate on the Amiga was quite slow anyway, Bullfrog didn't have a clue how to get the best out of the Amiga.

Lots of slowdown when theres lots going on the screen. And when you use the Gauss gun, christ, its like the computer stopped!

I found this on Youtube - [ Show youtube player ]

Look a lot smoother than what I am getting. Even menu loads times are instant, while on my WinUAE they take a good 3 seconds.

Have you tried playing it with an A1200 setup? I think it should be quicker.

what he said ^^

and use the whdload version.

i'd steer clear of JIT though, i've a funny feeling Syndicate becomes unplayably fast then! (hell, i seem to remember that happening on my brothers A4000 back at the time!)
