Amiga 3000 cia timer test fail
Hi, I just ran Amiga Test Kit, I got the following...
CIAA TOD expect 16 ticks: 25 => FAIL CIAA TOD IRQ expected in 16 VBLs: 12 -> FAIL ** SOME FAILURES (values >1% from expected) ** I have a couple of questions... Which CIA is this, is it U300 or U350 ? My Chips are as follows... CSG 318029-03 8520A-1PD 3892 24 Does it matter if I use different CIA's like those used in a 500 plus dated 91 ? Thanks for any help. |

First of all, you can always try and change places with the two and see what happens. It might just be bad contact as well so just reseating them might help. They've been in those sockets for 35 years.
Other than that, the CIA's are identical between all Amigas, except the AGA ones and the 600 that have another package. Functionally they're all the same though. There's just a bunch of different revisions. The ones from your 500 should work just fine in a 3000. |

@Liqourice
I thought it should be ok to use CIA's from a different Amiga like the 500 plus, but thought I'd check with people to make sure. Thanks for getting back to me with the advice. |

If you're not seeing issues, I would suggest this might be a bug in "Amiga Test Kit" rather than your HW. There is a chance it was never tested on this configuration A3000
Was this v1.21 of Amiga Test Kit? |

@alexh
You maybe right! Just booted up the Amiga 3000 to see what version of " Amiga Test Kit " I'm running, it's v1.18 Just ran the test again and got the following.... CIAA TOD expect 16 ticks: 17 => OK CIAB TOD expect 5008 ticks: 4992 -> OK CIAA TOD IRQ expected in 16 VBLs: 15 -> OK ** ALL TESTS PASSED ** I'll have to get the latest version of " Amiga Test Kit " and see what that shows. Thanks |
