Omega (RPG)
Does anybody remember this game? If I remember rightly didn't it need something like 1.5meg of memory to run? Well it was more than what I had at the time anyway. I used to go around to my mates to watch him play this game. As you can tell I'm a massive fan of RPG's. Might & Magic 2 being one of my all time faves.
Does anybody know if they managed to fix alot of the bugs that were in this game? If I remember it used to crash quite a bit, but we loved the game so we put up with it. I wouldn't mind giving it another try. Was this a Public Domain/Shareware game or was it commercially released? I'm guessing that it was probably wasn't released as I couldn't find it on HOL. Are there any other good RPG's (PD or shareware) which I might of missed first time around?! I remember playing Dungeons of Avalon which was excellent and I also loved Moria. (Graphics none existant but I just loved the gameplay) If theres anymore games like this then I must play them! Thanks in advance guys for answering any of the above! |

Aye, I remember Omega. That was the one where you started out in an enormous city which had Greek-style gods, a maze, and a bank with an ATM, right? Or am I thinking of something else?
I never used to get very far in Omega; usually, my characters would be swallowed up by a chaos storm or blown to bits by druids. Being consumed by triffids in the hedge maze because you had run out of salt water was another good one. As I remember, Omega wasn't finished. Out of curiosity I downloaded the DOS version a while back; it was in much the same state as the last Amiga version. The last update was in the late 1990s. As for other Amiga RPGs, there was a PD game I got into called Antep. This was basically an Ultima 4 clone; it's worth a look if you like that kind of thing. |

Yeah, the one I remember is the first link - the RPG. I've never played Origin's game before.
