Just a gentle reminder to Harry and Anakirob that you have two-and-a-half days left to submit a score... I don't want both of you to get knocked out

Yeah it would be a real shame if Lemon was playing only itself in the semi finals. Lemon for the win!
@ John - love those screen shots! I applaud how you managed to capture one just as the pang dude gets hit in the head. |

What does 'Leeet Score' mean? Late score? Lets Score? Great Score? Leeked Score?
I'm guessing it means 'Lifeschool is so glad he's not playing John4p in this round' - score. |

Don't you know the supercool internet meme "1337" = leet (short for "Elite")?
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Leet Thus 13337 = leeet. |

I have to play this one in UAE as my USB CF reader died, I'm sure I would do better using a joystick on my A1200. But I don't think there's any way I could match Harry's Pang skills even then. Still it won't stop me from giving it a few more goes over the next day or so though. |

That's a respectabel level to get to John. If you leave the crab to do it's thing to the right of the screen, you can stay in the centre and just 'feed' the crab small balls. With you on one side and the crab on the other, those pesky critters won't last long. The large one in the corner is easy.
Cute score. |

Thanks for the advice. If you look closely you'll see the food behind the crab which I was trying to get...
Yeah, score is quite low for getting this far. |

I started training with Pang already on Xmas and keep getting better. However I have not found yet a reliable way to solve this level 47. |

Remember folks today is the last day of this round... not that you need reminding but it wouldn't be the same if I didn't say it

I think the best way to solve level 47 is to walk a bit to the left and then to shoot and remove the leftmost ball. So all balls come from the right, leaving you a bit space to retreat. Otherwise, I missed a lot of fruits in the later levels, thus having a rather low completion score. Edit: And I play Pang with a modded Quickshot 2 joystick, having one button normal fire and one for autofire. Thats really handy for removing clusters of small balls. Note 2: Be careful with an unmodded Quickshot 2 stick if you manage to get one, it can kill your Joystick port if switched to CPC464 mode. (Happened to me in 1991.) You must insert a 500 Ohm resistor in the +5V wire to be safe. Last edited by Harry; 07 January 2012 at 20:02. Reason: Advice for Quickshot 2 mentioned |

^ So if you can use autofire in this game; can I use autofire in Turrican II?? - just for the flying levels? I use a real Amiga joystick with autofire switch (Zipstick). It would be really handy for removing clusters of small aliens...??

From the rules:
"Occaisionally restrictions will be placed on specific games, such as the banning of autofire if it is a power-up within the game." So if it is not explicitly mentioned to be forbidden you may use autofire in the competition. |

Yes, autofire is usually allowed.
__________________________ After scoring 1.46M (10k less than my previous best) and 1M today I finally got to the end: 1,646,500 edit: Glad I didn't check Lemon before this run. Had I seen Biscuit's score I'm sure I would've panicked in the last levels. Last edited by john4p; 07 January 2012 at 23:48. |
