Beware: This version of 060 is useless for Amiga turboboards, because of its lack of FPU and MMU!!

So ??? Then why did they bring out that Apollo 1260 with LC060 ??? And about the MMU, do many programs need this ??? I really donĀ“t know, but I thought I remembered from somewhere that this kind of processor without fpu and mmu can be overclocked very good ?! Please do correct me when I am wrong !!!

Yes, it can be overclocked, but... Well, try to find it out yourself, if you don't believe me... I was given such a CPU (@50 MHz) a couple of years ago, which I replaced in an Apollo 1240 and it worked! The only thing I tell you, is that I finally decided to put the original 040 with FPU & MMU back

Because this CPU is not designed for consoles like Amiga (whose software takes big advantage of the FPU & MMU). It will work, but practically it is DAMN slow and some progs will not even work, keeping on asking on these two missing features! The best 060 to use with an Amiga turboboard is the 50 MHz XC68060RC.

You are probably correct, but I remember when I had my 1230+68882 that only few programs used the co-processor ...
