Did You buy Cloanto Amiga Forever?

Hello, I am thinking about to buy this pack, the regular one that cost 20 euros.
I will admit that I have a pirate copy of It, since time ago, but well,I can´t receive the upgrades because I need a mail that I suppose I used to register the Cloanto Amiga Forever, so I can´t have the last version.

I don´t know what to do, because my Cloanto Amiga Forever works well, but in other hand I am thinking about buy one registered version.

Any help? What Do You think? (Don´t be mad at me, please)

If you use it regularly, then buy it - it's worth it.

I bought the lifetime version, and like you, I tried a pirated copy first, but quickly realized it was worth buying.

Go on - buy it

The AF updates are pretty worthless apart from WinUAE itself, and that can be upgraded for free anyway.

Back in the day... When it first came out. Maybe a bit later because mine has Amiga Explorer. I'd been using WinUAE (and Fellow for DOS) without a license for ROMs or AmigaOS for years.

I'm of the opinion that if anyone is doing anything for the Amiga community and is making a product I think is cool (whether or not I actually intend to use it) I'll pay for it. Part of this is me trying to account for the negative karma I built up over the years as a kid pirating stuff :P

Bought twice - just for support. I mostly use Amikit - the old free version.

I bought it years ago because I liked having the videos (like Deathbed Vigil etc) on DVD rather than my original VHS tapes

Bought the android one. Ironically since no Android emulators work on my S20!

I bought it once nearly two decades ago purely to watch the Deathbed Vigil which I had only heard about and couldn't find any alternative source. I remember tinkering with the emulator and scratching my head, wondering why anyone would pay £40 for a product when AmigaInABox at the time was free and more feature packed, also in comparison at the time you could buy a real A4000 for £200 or sometimes less... I stuck it on eBay a few weeks later and got £35 back. I still don't see the appeal to any of Cloanto's offerings, but then that's probably just me.

Yeah, I use WinUAE and AmigaForever...
AF is just easy to use for quick testing. Nice interface. Got the paid for ROMs/OS.
WinUAE I use for things like CF card setup, Drawbridge USB floppy support, etc...
And of course, I use my real Amigas for most Amiga stuff. ;-) With paid for new AmigaOS...
Glad there is so much good Amiga stuff available still...

Why would you pay anyone but Toni Wilen for WinUAE?

Except Cloanto aren’t doing anything for the community except making the OS harder to obtain. It is Toni that is making WinUAE, without which Amiga Forever would just be a collection of abandonware.

That would be a dumb thing to do, relying your product in another and not help it strengthening it

the only program that's worth it by Cloanto is "amiga explorer"
everything else is obsolete

Bought it several times. Ended up buying the lifetime pack. Good for testing image files etc. Not everything works though. Says some disks are write protected when they're not, 64 bit WinUAE implementation didn't work out and there's no real explanation of the 3.x OS other than a folder. It also doesn't accept image formats that WinUAE does like ctraw.

Simple answer is yes.

More detail, it is the only way to get the roms legally if you don’t want to pull them off your machines manually. It is very nice to have all of them in one place personally. So WinUAE is not enough, you need the roms.

When it comes to using the emulation and system AF offer, I prefer rolling my own in WinUAE. It is a good place to start for beginners though.

Cloanto is giving away free AF licenses every year as they sponsor several Amiga events and meetings.
