There is no way Kipper2k can be blamed for any of this. It's nice to imagine that designing a bit of Amiga hardware can make you rich but I know that is not really the case, and it's irrelevant anyway. If a retailer came to me and said $X for rights to sell your design I would probably take it - and then have absolutely no control over how they treated their customers.
AOTL was the first company I ordered from when I was given a A1200 a while back but this mess has moved them way down the list whenever I'm shopping. |

Also still waiting here, I ordered March 5, 2019. I assume the release of OS 3.2 must have stalled their progress on the keyboards, but the fact that they as usual won't just come out and say anything is getting beyond frustrating.

I received mine today! ..after a multi-year wait. However, it's really outstanding. If these ever become a stocked item, I may have to get one for my 500 as well.
In combination with the new replacement case I've had sitting around waiting for this keyboard to arrive, I'll finally have an unyellow Amiga 1200 for the first time since the late 90s. I've bleached the original case and keycaps twice and it just kept coming back. Last edited by rmzalbar; 04 September 2021 at 01:28. |

I finally received mine as well! It’s been a long 3 years so I’m happy to finally receive it. Hopefully they will stock more instead of the preorder debacle. I’d like to get another for my A1200.

They've raised the price to $249 so that second keyboard is going to sting your wallet a bit more. Hoping someone else will come up with a more reasonably priced keyboard that is delivered in a better timeframe.

I see $259, I guess they though $249 was a little low. At that price you're better off building my A1200 keyboard and buying keycaps from Signature Plastics, where you'll get top quality PBT keys.
Are the keycaps in the AOTL keyboards ABS or PBT? |

Meh! You still can't buy it, so don't see why it matters. An item only for the privileged few.

I stressed about ever getting my keyboard for a few months about a year ago, but I reasoned it out like this:
1. I don't NEED a keyboard, I would LIKE one. Mine works if a bit ugly. 2. If I no longer want it by the time it arrives, EAB, Ebay or Amibay would be happy to have it. 3. I could always cancel my order if an alternative comes up. 4. Screaming at people won't fix anything. Having realized this, I forgot about it entirely, so it was a nice surprise when it showed up. |

The next best thing to this is the RastPort KA59 Mechanical Keyboard, hopefully it will still be released but I haven't heard anything since this article.

Ahh well that is a small development, now going (they say) to be available in December 2021, first come first served basis. Damn expensive that, not even factoring in the shipping which, with customs, will probably be another 50+ usd.
a1200.net is still woring on getting keycaps and a replacement keyboard, hope they pull it off. KA59 has been radio silent for a long time now, kinda lost hope on that one to! Great to hear that more folk have finally received their kippers, if they are now surplus to your requirement and of the black variety, please feel free to message me your price |

Are these even real? 3 years now... Preordered a long ago. I have not seen a real unit so vapor. Amigaonthelake (it was the only source) |

People -are- receiving them. That’s not vapor - just poor planning and execution.

I don't have access to my original email, paypal account and I have moved few times.
Waiting for what? Who actually has a preorder keyboard and a case (all black). I would like to know. I'm waiting to make that 500-700$ back then buy something useful. |

I finally received the new keyboard (A500) awhile back. They shouldn’t have taken preorders as they underestimated demand. However, almost 3 years later, I did receive the keyboard and it works well.
Contact them through the store to see where your order is at in the queue. They have always answered me. |
