the 3 formats used on disk 2 :

format GO! track 00.0
1 sector/sync 4489

Rainbow arts format type 3
1 sector/sync 4489

Format Rainbow Arts 4489 Track 01.1 (protection track)
1 sector/sync 4489/256 extra syncwords 44895555

What I am seeing for track formats is the following for disk 2 on 4 versions of Garrison and 2 version of Garrison 2

0.0 amigados
0.1 garrison_dir - sync of 4489 file location table $f0 in length
1.0 garrison_empty - sync of 4489 and then filled with $55 (length varies)
1.1 garrison_protection - sync of 4489 and then

4489 54AA 54AA 54AA 54AA 4489 5555 4489
5555 4489 5555 4489 5555 4489 5555 4489

track bit length for 6 different copies is different

2.0- 79.1 garrison_data - I assume what you mention as "Rainbow arts format type 3"

I have been able to create working IPFs for all 4 copies of Garrison and the 2 of Garrison II with the latest updates to the decoder. Will be releasing the update soon.

Abaddon has now supported:

Chambers Of Shaolin
The Seven Gates Of Jambala
WARP

As a result of using the ibm_mfm_dd_unknown_length parameter it also supports the longtrack protection on Ninja Remix

Abaddon has now supported the Xelok protection

Found on titles like Grid Start, Impact, Moebius, Time Of Lore, Ultima III, Ultima IV & XR-35 and possibly others we haven't found yet

Great

EDIT : Ultima 4 doesn't use Xelok. It uses a protec longtrack, with sync 924a

Note : BarryB Ultima 4 dump has a broken track 0.1 (requires cleaning, if after cleaning still bad, needs to be fixed).

EDIT : is your original working fine with whdload ?

Xelok and protec are very similar, but xelok looks for 924a and the protection check in the game does not set the sync $ddf07e to 924a when reading the track. If you look at the wip from the sps site you will see that they even state that ultima 4 uses xelok.

Sorry, but the SPS tool doesn't recognize the protection as Xelok (i have it in my list).

The protection is a long track, Protec with sync $924a (we talk about the euro version, the US version is another story).

here on the SPS site :

"Ultima 4
The US version of this game has now been dumped, and is protected with a system called Xelok."

"The interesting things about this is that it is very similar to Protec. It seems either Protec was originally called Xelok or somebody ripped it off."

This is barryB CTRAW :

Next, the official IPF image of Ultima 4 :
