Since you have the EOB port experience, did or do you think about a "Lands Of Lore" port @CFOU ?

Karnov might be a good one... perhaps Tiger Road (that got a piss poor conversion from US gold)
Wardner too is a great game, that never made it to Amiga And I'll disagree that A500 can't do a good version of Shinobi... it should have no problem IMHO for most of it |

Shinobi uses 256 unique colors (read tons!). Lowering SSF2 for instance is easier to pass in 64 or 32 colors. Shinobi in 32 colors looks like shit. In 64 colors it's just average to look at. It can only be done with a full rework of the game colors/palettes (lot of work). I can talk about this because i did a full extraction of Shinobi's arcade assets. Wardner is a single background game, should not be a problem. Karnov is also a game that could be done. The only thing is the amount of colors used by the sprites. |

Let me doubt for Shinobi: if we get rid of the parallax layer or we re-examine it to use sprites, all levels can just use 16 colors easily plus of course the player (another sprite)

Rolling Thunder and Shinobi are pretty much the same game.
Doing it on an A500 is tricky because all of the sprites can change priority against the front playfield. This means you have to do two passes when you plot a sprite that for example is behind a fence. This is why the port of them to the Amiga is generally regarded as super shit, they effectively ran out of chip ram and I'm on record of saying a few times now that Tiertex done a decent job when they actually ported it - even though it's shocking. |

Shadow Dancer was a really nice port, and it's the pretty much like Shinobi and RT.
Just had a quick peak on youtube for both Shinobi and Shadow Dancer on Amiga, and they removed fences, but Shadows Dancer really moves a lot better. |

They took out the fences and the parallax. All in all though, I know what you mean... it seems a better port and gameplay is what counts. |

You're talking about Shinobi having fences removed, correct ? As fences are included in ShadowDancer. I do really like the port of ShadowDancer on Amiga. If just Shinobi had the same quality...

There is only one recipe : redoing in 16 colors all the backgrounds and the sprites by hand, exactly like what Images did with Shadow Dancer (pretty good job). Simply converting the graphics won't do the trick. |

I believe that would be hard to "snipe" the fence correctly by using dual playfield, right mcgeezer?

TROJAN is the easiest to port. I think with well programmed game engine, it can be reused for Rastan too
