Well done everybody thanks so much to all contributors. Can't wait to try it out. The feature list sounds excellent.

I don't manage sales.
I suggest you contact your dealer and/or Hyperion.

Congratulations to everyone involved! how great is it to have a new release for 35 year old machines? Incredible. TextEdit looks great, can't wait to try it out and the ReAction stuff.

Amiga on the Lake says they are ordering it, and plan to have ROMs and Floppies available.

Floppies?

While it can surely be done, I thought no one would be insane enough to try to sell so many floppies.

How many floppies has it expanded to?

For all machine types and all languages it would require 35 floppies.

So trying to sell that is...

Absolutely!

Buy the CD if you can. It has all versions plus it is bootable on the CDTV and CD32 (if you meet the hardware requirements), and it has other extras too.

I have 2 questions:

1) Will OS4.1FE get an update to add in any relevant features that should be carried forward that it didn't already have? e.g. new shell commands and command parameters

2) What, if anything, is left that OS 3.9 has that 3.2 still doesn't, now that 3.2 has better datatypes, better ReAction and has the prefs apps updated to be font sensitive, even if they're not exactly the same versions that 3.9 had.

I assume there will be an upgrade price for people who bought 3.1.4 ?

What are the killer features in the 100 new features that are worth the upgrade ?

There's some overlap and you might find that the shell commands in AmigaOS 3.2 are not functionally identical to the AmigaOS 4.x commands in terms of features. They still have some catching up to do. Put another way, there's more AmigaOS for the 68k platform to "adopt" from AmigaOS 4.x than the other way round.

What first comes to my mind is that AmigaOS 3.2 still has to carry HDToolbox and its ugly sidekick ProdPrep, whereas the partitioning software in AmigaOS 3.9 is much more mature and functional. As before, we did our best under difficult circumstances, but the whole HDToolbox situation is both supremely dissatisfying and hard to redress

Great news. I had the removal of my ageing CD drives planned, seems like it'll have to wait some more.

That doesn't look so bad to me, for a US-based vendor:

Disk No. Label Bootable Comments

1 Install3.2 Yes Install disk and CD-ROM driver
2. Workbench3.2 Yes Floppy usage requires a 3.2 ROM
3. Extras3.2 No
4. Classes3.2 No
5. Fonts No
6. Storage3.2 No
7. GlowIcon3.2 No GlowIcons
8. Backdrops3.2 No Background pictures
9. DiskDoctor Yes For diagnostics and salvage
10. HDSetup3.2 Yes SuperKickstart & A2090 support
11. Locale No Required for a localized install
14. Locale-EN No English translations
27. MMULibs No Optional CPU support libraries

Specify ONE of these in your order:
28. ModulesA500_3.2 Yes For Amiga 500/1000/CDTV models
29. ModulesA600_3.2 Yes For Amiga 600 models
30. ModulesA1200_3.2 Yes For Amiga 1200 models
31. ModulesA2000_3.2 Yes For Amiga 2000 models
32. ModulesA3000_3.2 Yes For Amiga 3000(T) models
33. ModulesA4000D_3.2 Yes For Amiga 4000D models
34. ModulesA4000T_3.2 Yes For Amiga 4000T models
35. ModulesCD32_3.2 Yes For Amiga CD32 models

That's only 14 disks. And you could make it 12 easily by having a "basic Amiga" set that didn't include the glow and backdrop graphics, which aren't really much fun if you don't have an RTG card I suppose.

DL only:
12. Locale-DE No German translations
13. Locale-DK No Danish translations
15. Locale-ES No Spanish translations
16. Locale-FR No French translations
17. Locale-GR No Greek translations
18. Locale-IT No Italian translations
19. Locale-NL No Dutch translations
20. Locale-NO No Norsk translations
21. Locale-PL No Polish translations
22. Locale-PT No Portuguese translations
23. Locale-RU No Rusian translations
24. Locale-SE No Swedish translations
25. Locale-TR No Turkish translations
26. Locale-UK No British translations

To be fair, I once or twice or several times installed Mac System 7.5 (Japanese), which was 27 disks as I recall. So I may be somewhat brain damaged.
