ST-XX samples archive in one big file?
Do you guys know if I can get anywhere the ST-XX sample disk archive in one big file? In IFF format of course. I have it in WAV but I do NOT feel like converting everything back to IFF.
Any help apreciated! |

Steinberg's Wavelab will do a batch convert for you and it will also do IFF.

I've been told only a handful ST-xx disks could be considered 'official'. All the others are random and less random sample-compilations from many musicians. Ie. 6 versions of sampledisks named ST-11 etc, which one is the correct one?
I'm interested in finding out more about this and if someone has categorized them to find some sort of 'from this musician', 'from this synth', 'this is the ST-12 considered official in Italy' and so on. Hm, wait. You said you have it already? Well, maybe there is an IFF version somewhere, but IIRC part of the reason Preset Lists were used in Soundtracker was that the ST-xx disks were raw. Where did you get the archive? If no IFF archive exists, then you can convert to IFF, but loop values are not there so they have to be re-tuned or generated somehow from the Presetlist with a program. Alex Mauer has compiled this, I dunno if he did it by hand or if he found the WAVs already on his own.
What I do know is that you are right, most of these disk are unofficial. And I know about loop points, that's why I would like the originals ![]() FUCK I spoke too soon. Alex Mauer has ALREADY compiled them all in IFF in one file!! I tought he only had the WAV archive. You can download th zip, is about 64 MB, after the info he has posted, which I will quote Quote:
You guys can ENJOY! And all credit goes to Alex: http://alexmauer.com |
