Can the API handle nested languages? For example, an HTML document can have JavaScript and CSS nested in it or C may have hand optimized ASM in it. |

The P96 driver for native Chipset is still useful, yes. What scsi.device for which controller are you talking about? With onboard A600/1200/4000 IDE you must use the scsi.device supplied by the OS.

No, but a smart highlighter will naturally be able to be coded to have embedded other languages - it is up to the creator of the plugin. - TextEdit does nothing in this regard

Is there a way how to easily create a language install floppy for a not included language localisation?

Anyone try this with a Buddha IDE card yet? That's what I have in my A2000 and wondering how much of a headache I'm in for...
For 3.1.4 I'm using the KS3.1 ROM chip, and I set the drive up using the Buddha's software, set it up for 3.1, and then installed using the 3.1.4 installer. I assume I'd have to do the same with 3.2? |

Similar query: I use an ide-fix express both for my cf to ide adapter, but also for the 2nd channel for the cd rom drive, presumably I will also need to reinstall that software ?

Don’t. Use the supplied device. It has been bugfixed, tested and even if your device offers marginal speedups in benchmarks, you most likely won’t feel it when using the machine for anything beyond SysInfo et al.

Argh, while I impatiently wait for the CD I happily paid for from amigastore.eu it would be really nice if they would let download an ISO from them :-). Next time I want a reseller who'll do that for me.

General question at the AmigaOS developers: are you going to consider to implement cleanly the useful features/improvements brought by some patches/add-ons? For example: it's nice that the OS has an official AssignWedge feature now, that DefIcons is a standard component, that the aspect of windows borders and gadgets is configurable, etc.
A few examples: * scsi.device updated so that it offers the same features and speed of IDEFix; * Intuition option to have windows smart-refreshed by default (ReAction has it, so the idea is making it system-wide); * option to have native screens interleaved by default; * FullPalette integrated in the OS (you have Massimo onboard, after all ); * shell option to have TAB open a file requester like KingCON does. (Side note: this was the sense of the question I asked during the presentation, but unfortunately it was misinterpreted.) |

We have been considering everything you listed and a lot more. Whether it gets done soon, in the future or never always depends on factors like: risk, amount of work involved and of course available developer/motivation. With motivation probably being the most important factor.

I don’t know mich about Czech, my last visit to Prague dates back to 1993, IIRC. Wooden turbo staircases at the subway.
So I also don’t know whether a special font or character set would be required. If not, anyone can enlist as translator and help us with bringing new languages to AmigaOS. Translating all strings is quite a lot of work, translating the gigantic online help even more so. But Rome wasn’t built online day either, so you could take it step by step and even split up the work among several contributors. |

Having watched the video about 3.2 I must say that I am impressed.
One of the cool things is that I can finally get the 1.x look and feel back, I love it! There are many other nice things too. I never really cared about MUI so Reaction is welcome. And finally a mouse pointer editor that does not open a new low-res screen. I have a some questions related to documentation. While it is good to have online help, I wonder about three things.
