A2000 #2
OK this one seems to be the worst off as far as Varta battery damage.
I hope it can be cleaned up. What is the best way to clean the green from the CPU slot or should it be replaced. There is more corrosion on this board but it still seems good compared to others on the interwebs. Any help appreciated. |

This one may not be worth saving as there is damage in the CPU slot.
Pin #1 is a ground but it is not straight. Pin #6 is +5V and is missing or bent right down. Not sure if both Pins #5 and #6 need to be connected but certainly high powered devices are going to need more current. This seems to be a 6.2 board where my spare ones are marked as Ver 6 Don't know how to tell which version precisely as mods can be made. |

Yeah I think this is the worst except maybe the a2386sx board that one has gone through layers.
But I have seen these machines still work after significant damage. We don't want to junk them if they can be fixed. Lucky for me I have 2 spares to play with. |

If there is green I'd replace the socket. Likely the traces under the socket are corroded or at least need a good clean

OH. MY. GOD.
When you told me they had some corrosion damage I didn't think it was that bad. I need to go dig mine out now, just to see if I really did cut the old batteries out years ago. |
