Ah right, I opted to just upgrade it to a 2B and then added U49 for good measure, the differences between 2A and 2B were I think all in the Power and Ground traces where 2B had quite a few extra traces and VIA's.

Hopefully some genius will make replacement BPF and DL now....

Power VCC and GND are controlled by the netlist. Missing connections are fixed.

So has many people assembled one from the A600 Reborn repository on GitHub? Has it been confirmed as working?

Seems Justme14 #478 is the only one confirmed a working s-video board from mick.

Hm, i think the main problem is missing PAL 8375 to build new boards

I have a V1 board, it does not boot. I know what is not working but not why?

Mick has a V1.1 board, the one that is on Github and it works.

There is also the Junebug A600 clone, I saw this on Facebook, https://www.facebook.com/groups/2214.../?q=june%20bug
This is a re-creation of the artworks only using Sprint Layout, whereas what we have here are the schematics and PCB recreated. Having the PCB and schematics linked, makes fault finding easier.

You need to join the "Commodore Amiga" Facebook group to see this post.

The post states that there will be "mass production" of the PCB. I wonder where the chipsets for these "mass produced" boards will come from?

Perhaps we can pull out our heat guns and trash a few more working (or repairable) Amigas to harvest a few chipsets?

Good to know there was some working ones out there. I have seen the June big re-amiga but not so keen on some of the changes made to it, and would rather the KiCad version to tweak it to my own needs.

When I get some time, I may have to tweak the design a little and make myself one

I started working on putting A600 into A1200 form factor at one point, figured it would solve all of the A600's problems like missing numpad, no new cases, proper expansion port.. but a> it's overwhelming b> I'm probably the only one who thinks it's a good idea and c> it might not work anyway and I'm a bit fed up+skint at this point. I kind of just keep going back to it every now and then. 1300 unrouted as things stand.

There's a lot of similarities between A600 schematics and A1200 rev1 schematics aside from the newer AGA custom chips.

Just a quick question if anyone can answer.

Should you combine the 'E' signal between Gayle and the MC68000? or keep them separated and just route the CPU signal to the Zorro slot by itself?

Also I don't suppose anyone has tried cutting an A1200 connector in half to separate 50/100 pin sections? just wondering if it's easy enough to do (ie. Stanley knife).

Definitely don't combine them! The E clock that is generated by Gayle is what is being used in the A600 and A1200, so you should route that to where-ever E clock is needed.

Mick, i'm thinking about ordering the S-Video version.

I took a look into the gerber (and i'm not a specialist into this) and figured out some strange routing on U8 pin15+16 which goes normally to pin 9+11 of CN11...have you integrated a bootselector df0/df1 ?

Oh, and i'm missing some Silkscreen info like "A600 Reborn S-Video V1.0 by Mick/EAB based on Rev 1.1" or something like that. Would be really nice.

Alright thanks Jope.

Other things I'm not sure about is which of the clock signals to send to the expansion slot.

7MHZ or 7MHZ_A
CDAC or CDAC_A
CCK or CCK_A
CCKQ or CCKQ_A

Does it really matter?

In summary I've followed A500 schematics for the slot, added pull-up resistors for VMA/VPA etc. modified overall decoupling based around A1200. Also, I'm unsure if I need the pull-ups for the address lines on the clock port header.

Still a long way to go and it's getting difficult now but I'm slowly (as usual) getting there.

If I get as far as building one I'm going to dismantle my previous A600 for parts but is anyone able to program a MC78HC705 for the keyboard MPU?

No boot selector, pin 9 and 11 of CN11 connect to ground according to the schematics. _SEL0 (15 of U8) and _SEL1 (16 of U8) go to pin 10 and 12 of CN11. It should all be connected right the only area which may not be great is the video area. I should have just stuck to not modifying anything but the problem of BPF and DL still exists (along with not being able to get one of kipper's keyboards from AOTL within a sensible time frame) which is why I've not really been doing anything more.

I didn't add any I expected stedy would delete the old attempts so I didn't think there would be any confusion, use the files in post #472 if you're unsure those are the ones I used.

I didn't really have version numbers anyway, all 3 were basically total reworkings using the same schematics. I learned a lot in a very short space of time between each attempt.

Ups sorry Mick, i found a picture on Amibay where the pins are not correctly labeled ...CN11 pin 10+12 are correct.

Ok...i've checked my Rev 1.1 on the bottom because i've read you have a Rev 1.1 but this looks different, yours seems more Rev 2. That's why i was confused.

The version from stedy on github should be the same as yours from #472. Stedy, can you confirm?

About no version numbers...this is a really bad idea, because there will be some PCBs ordered and nobody knows if it has changes or not. I absolutely recommend using some version info. If there will be changes in the future and the version on github will be replaced you don't see it on the board itself and it will get very confusing

About bootselector, can you please add some jumper for a switch for an onboard bootselector on the S-Video board? As far as i know U8 pin15+16 needs to be cut on original board and routed 15 -> 12 / 16 -> 10 for external DF0/internal DF1

Attached some pictures of the original routing to U8/CN11, maybe you figure out some possibilities

Hi,

I cleaned out an older Gerbers directory on Github, if you go straight to https://github.com/istedman/A600Rebo...Svideo_Working, you will have the files you need.

I'll play with the Bandpass filter/delay line soon. I need to build another DDS signal generator that can work higher than 5 MHz to test it, it is next on my todo list.

For a boot selector, copy the circuit from the A2000/A4000 schematics. You need to take SEL0, SEL1 and MTRX to gate the SEL signal to create MTR0 or MTR1 for the internal floppy drive. The default A600 floppy drive connector has MTR0. Gotek drives just need SEL0/SEL1 but a real floppy drive needs the MTRx signal to spin up the drive. You can use little logic devices to save board space.
