Problem with Disposable Hero on A1200 ok in winuae
Hi,
I have a real a1200 with whdload v17.0 and disposable hero disc edition. It crashes on the real amiga with: Exception "Illegal Instruction ($10) at $7006 occurred. The a1200 is using a cf card as the hdd. I imaged the cf card and loaded it up under winuae with the a1200 profile and it works fine. The game usually bombs out when loading the main menu. i.e after it displays the initial green text you press fire, it then loads from "disc" (hdd) with whdload. Under winuae at this point the screen flashes while it loads. On the real a1200 it crashes with the above error. Some times it seems to get to the gremlin title and then crashes when the screen says loading (i.e when it beings to load again, yet again fine in winuae). When it crashes on the real A1200 it has this error: Function 'resload_DiscLoad' called with unacceptable arguments SSP= $457d0 PC = $1fdcde (Slave $80e). It to me seems to be some issue with loading the game but not sure why/how to fix it. The a1200 does not have an accelerator card in it but is the 1d4 revision. P.S Please note I have set the max transfer for the partitions to 0x001fe00. Last edited by Vot; 26 September 2012 at 15:47. |

Hi yea I may have to. I tried disposable hero from a real floppy and it works fine. Just wondered if it was something really bad with the Amiga itself as I just bought it. I also tried reducing the max transfer as advised in the whdload info. But I didn't change the mask to what was advised in the whdload docs (from default). I will try that also. However, what I would like to know is: Is this an issue with the ill-fated 1D4 revision motherboard and should I attempt the fixes recommended elsewhere. (i.e removing the caps etc) I thought that this only needed to be done if you have an accelerator card. Last edited by Vot; 27 September 2012 at 10:38. Reason: Because I Can |
