Hmm

No luck here mate, I was pretty sure I had it too. The nearest I have is rings of zon. Don't think it's the same, but I'll check it anyway.

Yeah, I have often wondered if this game really exists on the Amiga. I tend to think it doesn't. The only references to an Amiga version I have encountered have been on Cheatz sites and you know how unreliable that can be. Here's the box for the Apple version, just so everyone knows what game we are talking about:

Removed box scan of the Apple version.

The website legacy claims it exists and there are the numerous cheat sites. Somehow I think there needs to be more proof than that. An ST version did come out. Makes sense there was an amiga version but if there is one its pretty darn rare.

st version

Just check all the compact disks automaton, pompey pirates, flame of finland, dbug and medway boys and and rings of zilfin isn't on them. Doesn't mean it doesn't exist, but seems more unlikely. Wasn't it released on c64 and atari xl too.

st version

I've ended up trying to find out if the st version exists too hehe. This site seems to suggest it does:-

http://www.austinvideogames.com/Systems/AtariST.htm

and docs are on D-Bug 151a.

Maybe we should rename the board ESTB board. Hmm..not a bad idea actually. hehe

Yes, it was also on c64 and Atari 8-bit...it seems to be for sure all over the 8-bit spectrum (no pun intended). I would like to think the Amiga and ST have versions of this game out there, as there is just something about SSI games that I like.

Likewise, Infocom's "Border Zone" is not on any of the menu disks for the ST, but I am reasonably sure it exists (and I really would love to find it!!)

I'd say keep it on the MIA list for the time being.

Hehe, yeah...well, I still think it more likely doesn't exist in 16-bit, but I have hope and have seen some games surface that I was convinced did not exist. Doubt with faith.

Border Zone was the only Infocom text adventure not released on the Amiga...

Exactly. Matter of fact, it was the only platform that Infocom developed for that didn't get a version of that game, which I never understood why. Oh, well...it exists for the Amiga now, even if it's a hack!

Sorry for the thread necro, but I can never help myself when it comes to SSI games. Rings of Zilfin did indeed come out for the Atari ST. (I know this from first-hand experience; the ST version is the only version I ever played.) However, an Amiga version never appeared. In fact, an Amiga version was never announced as far as I can tell from old SSI catalogs, newsletters, and magazines advertisements.
